I am trying to migrate LMS away from a Mac mini, and run LMS on a HP ProLiant N40L NAS.
LMS on the Mac sees all my album artwork, whereas the same version of LMS running on the NAS only sees about one quarter of the artwork files. Renaming the cover artwork doesn't change anything. The LMS on the Mac sees "cover.jpg", "folder.jpg" etc., - and all these artwork files are co-located with the music tracks in the individual album folders.
Both copies of LMS are looking at the same music folder (on the NAS).
Both copies of LMS have had the "library cleared, and rescan everything".
LMS version on both platforms = 7.7.2
The Mac has 8GB RAM, and is running OSX 10.6.8.
The HP ProLiant N40L NAS has 4GB RAM, and is running FreeNAS 0.7.2 (on FreeBSD 7.3) with LMS installed using SlimNAS 2.0.2.
LMS on the NAS seems to run OK otherwise.
Not sure if the small number of album artworks that ARE seen on the NAS are embedded in the tracks' tags? How can I tell? Shouldn't LMS see the "non-embedded" artworks anyway? Is it SlimNAS causing this?
Many thanks for any pointers, or help!

Same version of LMS on two different platforms: one sees artwork, one doesn't?

Try clearing LMS Cache on the new server? Then maybe a full Clear & Scan?

PC/Mac: LMS > Control Panel > Advanced > Clean Cache, hit Apply
NAS: No idea, likely need to manually find and delete/edit Cache file

Thanks, Toby. I had found that, but as you suspect, there isn't a LMS Control Panel in the NAS (at least, not one with Clear Cache) but there ARE cache files in a directory.
Rather than just delete those, I think I'll start a new thread and ask about this first (maybe of M Herger himself!)Martin at HeadSpin HD now on Blu-ray

Fyi embedded art have priority over artwork file so if there is embedded art this is used if ther is no embedded art a file is used it searches for folder.jpg cover.jpg and some more names and I think nowdays it desperately use any art in the end ?
It is not the scan that has failed ? and no proper dB is built--------------------------------------------------------------------
