Multiple NIC's LMS down after 1-3 hours

i have my server run LMS. but it is also gateway/DHCP/DNS

but this means i have two NIC's. and my duet loos connection after 1-3 hours of restarting the server.
after restart everything works just perfectly, but after e few hours the music keeps playing, but the controler will no longer control the reciever/LMS

i think it has something to do with the two NIC's as in diagnoistics the IP the server is listening on is my public IP. so what i think is happening is the controler tries to reach the public ip. and it works through NAT for a while. but my ISP blocks this kind of request back to my own IP if a certain amount of data has passed. and it stops working until i restart the server.

i have tried putting the appropriate commands to make the server listen on my local IP, both on the shortcut i open the control for the server with, but also on the shortcut in the startmenu that opens the server automatically. but it still seems to listen on my public IP.

if i startup the server without my public NIC connected. the diagnoistics in LMS just fails everything!!

PLEASE help me make the LMS listen on my local IP :-(

    Update:

so i have been fiddling with it. tried factory reset af both reciever and controller. and uninstall/reinstall of LMS.
and after e few hours where everything worked. it just stopped again. still has white light on reciever. and it plays happily on, but the controller can no longer connect to it or LMS.

i AM running an odd local ip range of 192.168.10.XX and i have read that this could give headaches. but i would rather not have to reconfigure EVERYTHING to run on 192.168.0.XX!

i am going to try fixed IP's for the controler and reciever when i get the time, but for now i am sad and dissapointed :-(

PLEASE someone come up with a hint to something

BTW does the controller send commands to the reciever or to LMS?
