    NSA310 - large file copy

    HI,

This topic may not really belong to this forum. wanted to check if anyone faces errors when copying large files (>100Mb) to the nsa310 over wifi. I tend to download hi-res music files and then transfer them to the nsa310. This fails on wi-fi but is ok on wired ethernet. I get an error message to the effect that the drive is not available. Also, can see on my laptop that the wifi status has gone yellow.
Since this issue has nsa31 - router - laptop not sure how to debug this.

No problem for me, I often drag mkv files over from my laptop without a problem and they are sometimes 4 to 5 gig in size, takes a while but does not fail.

I've also had this problem but since the rest of the wireless connections drop at the same time I reckon it's more to do with my router not being great than the nsa310. Also, it has only happened on a few occasions whilst transferring to the nas, something which I do quite regularly, but it has also dropped in the same way for things unrelated to the nas. Certainly, if your laptop wifi is going yellow too it sounds like it's a problem with the router. In my case, I suspect it just isn't powerful enough to handle a lot of traffic. Of course, I'm not an expert in these thing though so it could be two completely different problems. (I should also add that I've not really had any other problems with the nsa310 and I use it to stream mostly flac files via wifi to the squeezebox for at least four or five hours a day.)

Thanks need to see what can be done to tune up the router or the laptop wifi settings or change the router maybe. NSA310 seems ok and is a great deal for the money.
