    Another thread about duet receiver not connecting....

    Have 4 SQ's in my apartment, 2 booms and 2 duets and i have one controller for both duets. Normally i only use ipeng on ipad and iphone but for troubleshooting they are useless and i need to revert to the controller.

    The system always works flawlessly for a while but then it's always one of the duets that does not connect to my computer anymore or to squeezebox center.

    My normal way was indeed to hold duet button for 30 seconds until fast red blinking light and do a factory reset on the controller to set up the troublesome duet once more.....this has always done the job up till now....

    the one in my living room that used to give me this issue is now working fine but the one in my computer room is playing up. I've done the above solution about 3 times but it will see my duet, and ping successfully it but as soon as it tries to connect to my pc or SQ center it says it can't connect. The other 3 SQ's are working fine at this time.

    Both Duets are hardwired and the booms are connected wirelessly

    What else can i do? This is driving me nuts

    At times like this i longingly look at my brother-in-law's Sonos system and wish i wasn't so expensive

    Sounds like a issue I had a couple of weeks ago. Ended you having to use NET::UDAP to get the squeezeserver IP into the receiver.

    Sorry about that. If all else fails and you are using a Windows PC and decide to give UDAP a shot you can download the Windows executable version of UDAP that I used here;
    http://slim2lirc.myown.mailcan.com/udap_shell_1_0_0.exe
    Once downloaded there is no install, just double click the udap_shell_1_0_0.exe to start UDAP.
    Since you're hardwired to the receiver giving you grief you could probably just do the following from the UDAP prompt after doing the factory reset on the receiver;

    >discover
    >conf 1
    >set squeezecenter_address=192.168.0.16
    >save_data
    >reset

    Where 192.168.0.16 is the IP address of your squeezebox server PC. Then press the receiver button just long enough to get into network setup (release as soon as it turns red) and use the controller to connect the receiver to your network.

    So did everything you said and the player is back online - so that's the good news

    But now it does what you described in the other post - all players play for a few seconds and then cut out....i did not have this problem before

    Hope i didn't screw anything up by using this NET::UDAP?

    Another thing is by what you described with NET::UDAP it seems as i'm giving a static IP to the Duet but then it doesn't as the DHCP gives it own afterwards....

    It also only connects to my pc and not to mysqueezebox.com, if i want to switch libraries it only give me my PC option but not mysqueezbox.com anymore.

    Anyway hope you can help with this because it's got me worried

    Sorry that you're having all these issues. What do you mean by "did everything you said"? Did you set the receiver up for wired or wireless connection to your server? I think you can tell a wired vs wireless from the web ui settings - information, if wireless you will see a wireless signal strength for the player. How are you giving it a static IP, the squeezecenter_address is supposed to be the IP of the PC running your squeezebox server? None of what I gave you does anything with the IP of the receiver, that is handled with the secondary setup from the Duet remote.

    On mysqueezebox.com do you have your credintials correctly entered in your controller and squeezebox server? I've verified that I can switch my receiver back and forth between mysqueezbox.com and my squeezebox server with no trouble.

    Mean i did the steps you mentioned with UDAP, not sure if it will give me a static Ip or not just seemed that way but seems i'm wrong....

    anyway just followed your steps and did get my duet back online - but before this step my other 3 SB's were playing flawlessly now i got the 3th back online and now they all skip for a few seconds after every 10 seconds or so...

    What can this be? any idea how to solve this?

    Have you rebooted your router? If it's a dup IP problem rebooting the router should clear it. Once the router is rebooted you can go into your router and view the attached devices. Might want to verify that each of your players shows with its own IP.

    On UDAP I showed 2 different things. One was for wired and the on I gave the link to was for wireless.

    Not really sure what UDAP did, after each command the screen was filled with lots of info but not really clear to me what it was...typed in the ip you gave me as that one was not taken yet and i also happend to be on 192.168.0.***

    Will try the reboot the router when i get home but duplicate ip would only give me trouble with 1 or 2 devices...this time its all 4 before the UDAP thing the other 3 were working fine so i just wondered if anything could have been changed by that

    both duets are hardwired and both booms are wireless. If all fails i will try to set all of them up once more and reinstall SQ server - maybe that works
