Anyone want to speculate as to why this is happening? It's a bug, but I have no good idea of the cause.
I have a Transporter and Radio together in a sync group. Typically, I load and clear playlists from the web interface, which is the case in this instance. First, I played an album. Some hours later, I cleared the playlist using the web interface.
Later, I happened to notice that the Radio was showing the cover for that album again (evidence of a second bug - the stopped screen saver often doesn't work on the Radio). And when I went back to the web interface, both players had the album in their current playlist. This has happened two or three times with the same album in the past day or so.
One thing that I notice is that while the Transporter's clientplaylist.m3u file in the prefs folder is now empty, the clientplaylist file for the Radio is not, and still contains that album. Is it not supposed to be cleared? Is something triggering the Radio to reload it, then it gets propagated to the sync group?

Recurring playlist

Is it possible your server is restarting? With synced players, I almost never get playlists to persist after a server restart. 99% of the time it loads an older one from a day or two before instead of the one that was loaded at the time of restart.

Yep, that's what is triggering it. I have a scheduled script that runs each night to perform some database maintenance and it restarts LMS.
I just tested it by playing an album on the sync group, clearing the playlist, then restarting LMS. When LMS was restarted, it loaded that old playlist. I assume that it must be coming from the Radio's .m3u file. For me, it doesn't do it if I have another playlist loaded, just when the existing one is blank when the server restarts.
What I notice about the currentplaylist .m3u files is that only when a player is the target for playing files is its .m3u file overwritten. The .m3u files for the other players in the sync group remain unchanged. So if I play something with the Transporter as target, its currentplaylist file is updated. If I clear the playlist and restart the server then the days-old playlist from the Radio is loaded for the entire sync group.

I don't remember if I reported it here or in bugzilla (I can't find an open bug report) but it has been that way for a while. I think a developer commented and it may have been a WONTFIX situation, because I just got used to the fact I would have to save a playlist if I wanted to be able to come back to it after a restart, since all my players are always sync'd.

I don't even much care about coming back to the playlist that was loaded last. But I do find it crazy that playlists that may have been loaded days, weeks or months ago are being loaded out of the blue.

I usually have a dynamic playlist or Sugarcube playlist loaded, so for me it is annoying to have it load up a set of songs I recently just heard. Once I realize what happened I can just skip to the end of the list and start getting new songs, so not terribly annoying. But it did work properly at one time, and that's the most annoying thing about it.
I found the thread and bug report from when I originally noted this in 2009.

Oh, I see you found it! :-) But will anyone see your new comment with a bug status of RESOLVED WONTFIX?Sue

Please reopen it. Looks like it was closed without even a comment.
