I own a Transporter as well as a couple of Touch's and have compared them in a variety of combinations.
On their own, sans external DAC, I much prefer the sound out of the Transporter. I find it's top end is far superior. Esthetically, I much prefer the look of the Transporter. Since I am running a tablet as a remote, neither of the display's factor into the equation. However, if you are viewing from a distance then the Touch's small display can be a challenge to see.
As a transport, connected to an external DAC, it's challenging to hear much difference .... provided you are employing a capable designed DAC. I would perfectly happy using one of my Touch's as my primary transport if I didn't have a DAC that allowed me to connect in master/slave mode.
