    my plugin is getting deleted

    Hello,

I'm using the latest server (Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.2 - r33893), installed on Win7.

    I've written a plugin, which I have placed in ProgramData/Squeezebox/Cache/Installed Plugins/Plugins/.
The plugin works just fine. But the SB server always gives a warning: "Plugins have been updated - restart required".
When I do restart the server, my plugin gets automatically deleted by the server.

Why is this happening and how can I get my plugin to not get deleted?

    Thanks,
    Eran

Don't put manually created plugins in the Cache/InstalledPlugins/Plugins
location - this is for automatically installed plugins, if you look on the
server settings information page it will tell you the appropriate other
location for installation of plugins on your install.

../Cache/Installed Plugins/Plugins/ is where plugins auto installed installed via the " plugins tab" gets installad and also keept track of and updtated from the plugin repos by the extesiondownloader (I'm no dev so I cant explain how to set a plugin repo )
Afaik when one installs or upgrade a plugin via the extension downloader it first get stored in squeezeboxserver/cache/DownloadedPlugins and then installed in /Cache/Installed Plugins/Plugins/

But the old plugin directory from when SS/SC/SBS/LMS did not have any plugin installer and every plugin was to be manually copied is still there .

....squeezeboxserver/Plugins this is at the same level as the cache folder

If you've not already sorted it, the correct location for Windows 7 is typically here; C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\Plugins
www.spicefly.com - ** Spicefly SugarCube ** - A hassle free acoustic journey through your music library using MusicIP. Plus the finest MusicIP installation guides, enhanced MIP Interface and SpyGlass MIP the Windows Automated MusicIP Headless Installer.
