Over the last month or so I have been trying to get a squeezebox touch on the wall in my ensuite and tonight I finally achieved it, i went through a few nasty prototypes but after spending quite a bit of cash and working with a pro I finally got something suitable, I think there are still some improvements so be made but here are the results.
I have included some pictures of how it went together in the below posts, I had to remove the stand using a torx screwdriver to remove the stand as I only had 8cm between the partition and the stand was too big.
I had this one made with screws however I will be replacing this with holeless and two sided heavy duty tape, with the stand of its very light and pretty much sits there on its own anyway so only needs a light hold but two sided tape on all sides will hold it nice and hard against the wall.
If you have uneven walls you may see gaps and the 3mm Acrylic may flex a little but once i stick it on with heavy duty tape it wont be coming off in one piece i don't think so you would need power accessible elsewhere for resets.
I can get these in a number of White, Black, Red & Blue, and will make them available at GBP 30 each (any colour) and will include tape. The way it works is the plastic is perfectly cut to size to sit on the front bezel so its never coming forward and to stop it falling back i used a small amount of glue round the edges avoiding the mini speaker and the SD slot. Then just a case of cutting the hole using a pad saw after using the template to draw your hole (using a spirit level) and going round the outside of the line.
It might sound expensive for a bit of plastic but the guys got an expensive machine and im trying to claw back a least a bit of my development costs!!
Dimensions are 186x142mm,

I've had a PM about how I did the wiring so thought I would share for all. The room which this is in is an upstairs ensuite and a partition wall between the bedroom and ensuite, the loft is directly above so i dropped all the wires down through the partition wall, I initially dropped them outside of the partition wall as trying to get the power, audio and ethernet through the stud work would have just been too hard with the tools i had, i then just scraped the plaster away over the wood and layed them in there and polyfilled over. if i had cable grips, staple gun i would have used, there will be lots of ways of getting cables and I now I could have done mine neater but it tidied up fine, I had to actually drop out of the loft originally 30cm left as that's the closest i could get from the loft space, I will share more pics at a later date.
As i've mentioned already I think using one of these mounts is a priority to have the power accessible elsewhere as if you use good heavy duty double sided tape it is highly likely it will break when you try and pull it off the wall at a later date.
I have an amp in the loft which is always on which feeds a single KEF RC6S http://www.polkaudio.com/customaudio...dex.php?s=rc6s

Do you think using an adhesive backed magnetic tape on the wall and the mount would hold? Might need to have the back routed out to make room, although that may raise cost, unless they are being produced on a printer in which case it may shave a few pennies off since it will be using a bit less plastic.

Interesting concept, currently they are cut out using a laser cuter rather than a 3d printer which is going to be more expensive as it will have to be developed further and the general process is more complex i belive so will likely push up costs.
tbh i have no idea if it would break if you try and pull it of the wall, the trick will be to use the minimum amount of tape necessary to get a hold. I highly reccomend that people take of the stand using a torx screwdriver as you will be surprised to find how much that weighs. with the stand removed it is very light and I expect it just to need a piece at each corner (on straight walls) which will make it much easier to get a knife in there to try and get it off.
I'm more just trying to set expectations, this is not a rigorously tested product meant for the mass market.

I'm interested in this. Have you got some pictures of the black version?
