All over sudden the WiFi-symbol turns red

My Squeezebox Radio is driving me crazy:

I have a working WiFi (W-LAN) in my home, which connects beautifully to laptop, tablet, mobile phone and Kindle without any adjustments. (Everytime, all the time!) BTW: WiFi name (SSID) is unique to me. Channel 11.

And sometimes, just sometimes it works with the Squeezebox. Then I have the WHITE WiFi-symbol and can listen to radio-stations all over the world. With good luck for 15 minutes, with bad luck for just 15 seconds. All over sudden - and without doing anything to the network - the WiFi-symbol turns RED and the connection is broken. Oh, and the WHITE symbol may return after some minutes and the box reconnectes to the WiFi.

So, right now there is absolutely no fun in listening to the world radio stations.

Has anyone an idea, what I am doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

I see this problem when connecting with an access point that is not broadcasting its SSID. Once I turned on the SSID broadcasting beacon it has worked perfectly ever since.

    Same problem

I am experiencing the same problem,
but interestingly just with one of my two Squeezebox Radios. Squeezebox Touch also works fine.
WiFi connection is there (AVM Fritzbox Router has the two radios online).
But all of a sudden the red WiFi sign appears and the Radio looses its connection.
Sometimes it looses the connection every 5 to 10 minutes, sometimes it works the whole day, sometimes it won´t connect at all.
You always have to shut down and restart the radio.
It made a reset to factury default, without success.

Since it just happens to one radio (both with same Firmware 7.7.2 r9663) I guess it has a broken WiFi module or something.
I still have 1 year guarantee, so I will return it this week.
