    EDIT: for Mac I don't know, but it's worth checking to see if Robin Bowes' flac2mp3.pl script will convert from 24/96 FLAC. You'll need to have Perl installed on the Mac.

    Hacker friendly instructions for PC:

    1. Get the FLAC and LAME command line executable versions. They should be named flac.exe and lame.exe.
    2. Put those two files in a directory where your Flac files are located.
    3. In that same directory create a file named "flac2mp3.bat" and put in it the following text:

    mkdir mp3

    FOR %%f in (*.flac) DO (
    flac -d "%%f" -o "mp3\%%f.wav"
    lame --r3mix "mp3\%%f.wav" "mp3\%%f.mp3"
    del "mp3\%%f.wav"
    )

    4. Double click the flac2mp3.bat and voila, in a few minutes the "mp3" subdirectory will contain MP3's. You will have to tag them yourself though.

    Hope this helps.. or just use foobar like the guy before me said

    For the Mac there is MAX http://sbooth.org/Max/

    It's also a GREAT ripper/encoder. I'm using it to do all ripping/encode/transcode.

    I also recommend dBPoweramp for the PC, which I use.

    Bigasoft Audio Converter

    I found this converter "Bigasoft Audio Converter" there is a Mac and PC version. It was $21, bought the Mac version. Simple to use and looks like it supports most formats. It works on my 24/96 files from HDtracks that my free Mp3 Wma converter didn't. I'm satisfied, thanks for everyones responses.
