I've come across an issue that causes quite a bit of server load when playing Spotify playlists: the current playlist keeps perpetually updating, that is, it's timetamp (playlist_timestamp) keeps incrementing even if nothing changes and the player is not even playing.
This can cause quite a bit of load since all clients keep re-requesting the playlist all the time, didn't check SqueezePlay but it's definitely an issue with the Web Interface and iPeng.
The Squeezebox Controller App is affected the most, here, the playlist becomes more or less unusable.
Is there a design reason for this or is it simply a bug?

I've the same problems in my project "Squeezster".
It looks like a bug to me. The concept of the timestamp is lost.Developer of Squeezster, a Squeezebox remote control for Nokia phones.
