Has anyone succeeded in getting the latest(7.8) or any of the Squeezeplay .deb downloads to install and work correctly. Presently I am running Squeezeplay on Ubuntu 10.10 that I was able to compile with instructions from this site http://www.jfwhome.com/2009/11/22/co...-ubuntu-amd64/. The instructions are quite old now and I am building a new computer with Ubuntu 12.04 and am hopeful that there is a simple way to download and install Squeezeplay.
I say I compiled Squeezeplay originally but it was with quite specific instructions and I would not know how to to do it otherwise.

I downloaded the deb file from Logitech for Squeezeplay 7.7.2 and tried to install it with Software centre but it would not install. Why would a nonfunctional (?) file be on the Logitech web site for download. Is there a clear instruction anywhere for installing Squeezeplay?

Afaik it does not work on old ubuntu 10.04 either even if succeed to install , there are graphical bugs etc .
The very old ones worked 7.5 or similar , but would not like the new server .
However there is hope , if my memory is correct there is a tread on this forum where someone has made a 24/96 able version of squeeze play and as a side effect it seems to install and work properly ?--------------------------------------------------------------------

I guess I am looking for a fairly straight forward way to install Squeezeplay. There does not appear to be a concise set of directions on how to install the 24/96 able version so I have not tried it yet.
