    New jumper cable for Transporter

    Hello,

I was wondering if someone could help me.

In my "wisdom", I opened the transporter in order to unblock the stuff buttons. i fixed that problem, but managed however to break a tiny plastic bit from the end of the connector for the jumper cable which connects the display to the rest of the transporter. As a result, the transporter only works if I am extremely lucky and hold the cable manually in place!

I asked Logitech support for assistance in getting that cable but they could not help me. Would anybody have any idea where I could order such a cable?

Thanks for any help or leads,
    Paul.

Can you post a photo, preferably with a finely graduated ruler for scale?

Thanks for the reply. I'll post one tonight once I find a ruler.

That looks to me like a 30 conductor 0.5mm pitch FFC (flat flexible cable). I don't know the overall length but Digi-Key has an assortment, like so:

    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/prod...0212-ND/522652

You can look for more here:
    http://search.digikey.com/us/en/cat/...?k=ffc%20cable

Choose USPS first class shipping and it will only be a few dollars for shipping.

Do the connectors on the circuit boards look ok? The small plastic locking ramp is easily damaged on these.

Thanks a lot for helping me get unstuck with this. The cable is 10cm long. Actually the plastic locking ramp is the major problem so I ordered both a new cable and some new plastic locking ramps. I'll let you know if these fix the problem.

    end result

I just wanted to say that I can now use the transporter. The plastic connector was the main problem, but i managed to get a new one to hold the cable in place.

It's not working perfectly (the on-machine controls are faulty), but I don't want to open it up again in case I make things worse -- now I can hear music again in excellent quality. I guess it is only not working control-wise because of the way I did the connection of the FFC (possibly it's at an angle).

    Thanks for your help!
