I use some software called "Magix" to record and digitize music from my LP collection.
But although I create a folder with a neat title that describes the record and rename the tracks I (painstakingly) divide the recording into AND place a "folder.jpg" pic - I can still not find and play the material on my squeezebox players.
I have re-indexed the sqeezebox server.
Is there any other type of file that needs to be in the folder and if so - how do I create this?
Does anyone have experience with Magix for recording LP:s intended for use on the Squeeze?

What kind of files is this ? WAV FLAC mp3 ?
If they are WAV I suggests converting them to FLAC and use mp3tag or tag&rename to provide metadata form the files, tags.
I suspects that your files have no tags in them ( thats where artist album and song info is coming from ) .
If you go via "music folder" on the squeezebox or web-UI can see the files then ( this is a way to play files by their name and folder not the tags ).--------------------------------------------------------------------

I've just finished "digitising" my LP collection using a Focusrite Scarlet USB audio interface.
The recording application I used only save files in WAV format so I changed these to FLAC using Foobar2000 and then manually added track and Album name tags and also track numbers (time consuming this!) using Mp3tag.
These work fine on the Touch - I suspect it's the lack of appropriate tags that is preventing yours from working.
Hope this helps

I record and save as FLAC.
The Magix software does a pretty good job of recording and cleaning (I can select which level of noise and clicks I wish to retain). AND with the recommended mp3tag software I now get the required tag information (album, artist, title etc) into the files.
I can even most of the time get it automatically by web lookup which saves some keying.
The bad side of recording is that I cant listen while recording so if a record is damaged in such a way that the needle is stuck in the groove I unintentionally get VERY long recordings - but not enjoyable :-)Squeezebox Duet Yamaha 5.1 Rcvr Dali Zensor 7 + Zensor Vokal, Squeezebox Radio, (2nd) Squeezebox Duet Technics Rcvr B&O S45 Speakers. I've used Magix for years, upgrading every couple of years or so when they've made enough updates to make it worth it. I find it pretty easy to use and if used carefully you can get really good results cleaning up the vinyl. I rip to 24/48 so that I've got plenty of headroom for any digital corrections and level changes.

Where is this folder for LPs located? It should be within the same directory structure that holds the rest of your Squeezebox music. And, what's your storage file format for the LPs?
About one-third of my 50,000+ tune collection was converted from LPs and open reel tapes (took about 10 years to get 'em all) and I have absolutely no problem playing them on the Squeezebox system.
The more details you provide, the more likely we'll be able to help you.
