well, i said id report back when it stopped working properly, so...... here i am again :-)
im having the same problems again. i can play locally stored music. i go to play 6 music and it just says fetching track details and hangs. if i go back to favourites and choose onmysqueezebox, com it says theres an ip problem. i did as you mentioned before and set up the 'test 6 music' favourite and changed server and tried it. it didnt work. yet it did work on the original 6 music station stored there insted. so i did get it working for a few seconds before going back to see if it would do it again.
same prob on my local server. went back to try the SB server again in networking, and again, itll play the original 6 music favourite, but not the test 6music. so..... im playing it at present, but it hasnt sorted my problem. id like to be able to sort it so i understand it and stop having to ask on forums :-)
this is my ip situation.......
if i go to control panel on the laptop server and diagnostics, LMS server ip is 192.168.1.2
mysqueezebox.com server ip is 176.34.103.98. all the pings are ok.
information tab says my logitech media server status, server ip address is 127.0.0.1
on the touch itself, i go to settings, advanced, diagnostics, server info and mysqbox.com ip address keeps changing every few seconds.
in general info my firmware version says 7.7.2 r9663
in settings, advanced, squeezebox info it says LMS 7.7.2 r3389
i get mixed up with all these ip addresses and what they relate to, but wondered if any of this makes any sense to you? i just want it to work!! :-/
thanks for helping me.

Problems with Internet radio
Actually, I do have a problem with that (not to hijack the whole thread). I can't get internet radio when I'm connected to my library on my local server. If I try to connect to a streaming source, my player just freezes (doesn't matter whether it's one of my radios or my Duet). I have to go into the network settings and change over to mysqueezebox.com whenever I want to connect to an internet radio station, then go switch back to my library when I want to play .mp3s. It works but is incredibly annoying - any ideas?

that problem tells me that your local LMS does not have your mysqueezebox.com credentials entered correctly. When you go to LMS > SETTINGS > mysqueezebox.com tab, do you see your mysb.com username (email)? and if so, enter your password on that page and look closely when done for any messages on the page about an error, etc. Sometimes it is not obvious that it didn't take your credentials.

Thanks, but that's not it. I've tried re-entering both in the web control and the control panel, and I'm sure the password is right (I've logged into the website with it). When I try to click over to a stream, on either the radio or the Duet, it pulls up the right stream name but then hangs at "Connecting." I then can't get out of it without restarting the device - I can back out using the arrows, but if I try to select the library or another stream nothing happens.

hi, im back again unfortunately :-/
your advice has helped me so far to understand the different servers etc, but this seems to be a new problem now. as before, itll play my music, and if i switch library to mysq.com, i can play digital radio from my favourites etc. but whe i switch library to my laptop again, it wont play my favourites in there. it says it cant resolve ip address oplm.radiotime.com.
whereas before, youve advised me to try typing in different addresses and saving as favourites, this time i thought ill do a fresh search, and select it from 'internet radio' 'search' and then type in the station. but it wont allow a search on it even. says the same error message, so it cant be a wrong address this time. it just wont even search for 6 music :-/
any advice on this one please? ive tried rebooting LMS, powering off the virgin hub, and switching squeezebox off/on, but nowts changing :-/
thanks

sadex,
You have a network problem somewhere. What is this "Virgin hub"? Is it a router? Modem/router combo? Guest network involved?
Go to LMS > Control Panel > Diagnostics, what is reported for ALL pings, ports, IP's?

hi
the virgin hub i believe is a modem/router combo. its certainly taken the place of our old modem and seperate router, and is part of an upgrade package from virgin, along with tivo box etc.
no guest netwok involved.
ive looked in the diagnostics as you suggest, and everything seems fine. all pings and ports say 'ok' and mysq.com has an ip address and so does LMS. its 192.168.0.5, so a local ip address is that?
thanks for any help you can give me.
cheers
