Hi folks.
Havn't been around for a while. Just got back to the Touch (after running my iPad as player for a while)
Got a question. Not sure if it's a known or my problem. I didn't scan the last 60 pages of this thread.
I have LMS 7.7.2 under Linux running and latest EDO installed. Somehow not any native PCM streaming (flac gets decoded on the server) is working. Local flac decoding on the Touch works.
What am I doing wrong here?
Thx folks.
Ahh one more question: Is the screenoff plugin supposed to turn the screen completely off as I'm doing it with the Toolbox?Last edited by soundcheck; 2012-07-23 at 06:42.

192 (and 176.4) will not work with PCM streaming. With PCM streaming the sample rate is sent via a separate command, but that command doesn't have anyway tospecify 176 or 192. With FLAC streaming the sample rate is included in the FLAC header, which DOES know how to specify 176 and 192. The latest and greatest beta 7.8 LMS has been upgraded so the sample rate command knows about the higher sample rates so PCM streaming will work.

It's intended to do the same as screenoff in Toolbox + also disable screen updates within squeezeplay, reducing the cpu load when the screen would be displaying animating text such as long titles etc. Please check the lua to verify I've got the same as you for the display off side of this...
My intention is that you use this as the now playing saver with a short screensaver delay so that you can navigate normally and then disable the screen while listening.

192khz over wifi-n without stuttering
Today I bought a Netgear WIFI Extender with 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n and 4 ethernet connections. The SBT with only 802.11g gave stuttering when I played 192khz files. By connecting the Netgear WIFI extender to my WIFI network and then connected it to the SBT by ethernet, I created a 802.11n connection by WIFI. It's a work arround but for 50 euro's I have no stuttering anymore. The diagnostic of the SBT gives even by 10.000kbps full green, without the Netgear WIFI extender the diagnostic of the SBT gave with 6000kbps already red. So I hope more users can use this method, so they can play 24bit 192khz files over wifi !

Last night I was running EDO+TT3.0+SBGK(S/PDIF) under 7.7.2. Everything worked fine except I'm getting freeze-ups when scrolling through my music folder. I also wasn't sure about the screen-off commands TT3.0 vs EDO. I was getting strange behavior with both enabled so I'll try disabling through TT3.0. Also 24/192 files were playing excruciatingly slow.
Following Triode's advice I just finished installing 7.8 Hoping this would fix these minor bugs... but it doesn't seem to be working. LMS is showing version 7.8 but player firmware is still at 7.7.2
Am I missing something here?Last edited by Turnandcough; 2012-07-23 at 15:34.

Now I'm getting no sound at all on 24/192 files and interface is still buggy.

Hmmh. Had the problem with 44.1/16.
I had flac and other binary issues on a 64bit Ubuntu Linux server before. I had to use the Ubuntu binaries instead.
I need to check that out again. I thought I got them replaced already on my yesterdays installation.
BTW:
I had 7.8 running for a while. While scanning the files it hung up and beside that the SB wouldn't upgrade ( same issue as reported by the other inmate a couple of posts back). 7.8. didn't look that stable to me. That got me back to 7.7.
