when playing 24/96 material, there are intermittent sound from left channel for first 20-30 seconds. Is this anything to do with EDO buffer setting?

The Legato is running Wavelength's Streamlength code on the USB receiver. If I have no hub turned on, the sound is played extremely slowly. With no hub work around off, everything is playing correctly.

So it seems not all USB Class 1.0 audio device would require the no hub work around?

This means you probably need an external hub. The "no hub work around" is a mechanism which only works with some dacs, but avoids them needing an external hub for true async operation - if it does not work, then I suspect you don't see the momentary frequency changing and possibly occasionally hear clicks - these will be fixed by an external high speed hub.

Does the info display say it is full speed and async? If so does the momentary frequency change? If it does not then async mode is not operating correctly - however you might be lucky if the crystal frequencies are close between SBT and the dac so that they don't generate an over/underrun very often.

Did a complete SBT reset. The clicks and pops are back without hub.

    Info page:
    Speed:High
    Connection: via Hub
    Type: Async

Even without a hub, the info says the connection is via hub. Is this a bug?.

Yes - is this after hotplugging the dac or was the STB rebooted? Could you login to the device and post what cat /proc/asound/<card-id>/stream0 shows

I tried both hotpugging and reboot using tt -rbt

Is this a folder location, I could not find it.

    Me too...

    Hi triode and lake_eleven.

I seem to have a similar problem with my setup.

    SB Touch with EDO
    Powered USB hub
AudioWidget with pcm5102 DAC from Yoyodyne Consulting by George Bouderau.
    O2

When running the DAC in UAC2 mode the SQ is fine but the SBT decides to output the 44.1khz media at 48khz. Never heard Mark Knopfler sound so young and brisk :-)
In UAC1 mode there are pops and sparkles but the rate is right.
Connecting the ODAC (no 24/192) gives a good SQ in UAC1 mode...

Hmmm, my feeling is that the SBT and the DAC doesn't fully understand eachother.

    Any suggestions?

    Brgds

I think the only problem here is the potential bug showing it having a hub when it is not there - this is probably only accurate if you don't hot plug the device and look at the display straight after rebooting touch - I'd be keen to see the cat output at this point if you still see this.

However on the actual audio - I don't expect your configuration to work without a hub.
