EDO *does* provide 192kHz/24bit output via coax when the source files are in FLAC format and are allowed to stream in that format. Great for Linn Records studio master downloads!

confirm, yes EDO will allow you to play 24/192 via the S/PDIF digital output of your Touch, assuming your DAC handles 24/192. CLARIFICATION. You say the 24/192 files played before. Did they play ON THE TOUCH, with BOTH EDO and TT3.0 installed? Or was it just with EDO installed alone? Please clarify exactly how things were setup when you were able to play the 24/192 files.

Also, confirm that in LMS > SETTINGS > ADVANCED > FILE TYPES, you see the following setting for FLAC files:

    FLAC AIFF flac
    FLAC Native
    MP3 flac/lame
    PCM flac
    Location 1: VortexBox Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)
    Location 2: VBA 3TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio)
    Office: Win7(64) > LMS 7.7.2 > SqueezePlay
    Spares: VBA 4TB, SB3, Touch (3), Radio (3), CONTROLLER
Controllers: iPhone4S (iPeng), iPad2 (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.7 on Win7(64) laptop
Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Tagging - mp3tag, Spotify

Yes the 24/192 played before on Touch with EDO and TT3.0 installed. Just checked my FLAC settings and they were out. have reset and 24/192 now working, thank you very much!
    FLAC AIFF flac
    FLAC Native
    MP3 Disabled (greyed out)
    PCM flac

Not sure why MP3 is greyed out.

    Also I use HDtracks.

not sure, but perhaps because you don't have LAME installed to act as mp3 codec for converting from FLAC to mp3. Doesn't matter if you don't want to convert from FLAC to mp3 (one would only do that trying to save bandwidth, streaming to smart phone or something like that...)

    Hi all,

I would like to happily report that my Touch is playing 24/192 music via SPDIF and USB. Thank you Triode for opening your mod to the community, your work is highly appreciated.

    Here is my setup:

.) TT3.0 and EDO installed, in that particular order
.) Server -> Wifi Network -> Touch -> WaveIO USB to I2S card from Lucian@DIYAudio (XMOS based) -> BuffaloIII DAC

The first time I tried to stream music it sounded a bit congested and with micro-cuts (like small jumps in the sound). Any combination of buffer, kernel, etc.. did not make any difference, so I tried the modifications in the following link:

    http://touchsgotrythm.blogspot.co.uk...misations.html

I have no idea which of those changes made the deal. My particular impression is that the changes to the IRQs solved the problem.

On the other hand, my server has a custom-convert.conf file that allows me to stream FLAC as either FLAC or PCM upsampling redbook CD at 24/192 with an apodizing filter. It works quite well using a big buffer with SOX to avoid cuts. Music flows without any problem and very pleasant results. I reserve my objetive opinion for the other thread opened to this effect.

If anybody is interested in this setup I would be glad to help.

Question to Triode: is there available somewhere the Kernel that you have modified and that the Touch downloads from Google code ? (source code I mean, it would be great to learn from your changes to the Touch´s kernel)

    Thank you and best regards
    Pepe

Its really a selective merge of recent changes to the snd-usb-audio driver to the old kernel used on Touch. I must get round to making this available, sorry I have not found time to do it yet. If you mail me then I can probably do you a diff for this, but I really want to structure this as a patch for the logitech build system at some point.

so your set up is TT3.0 + EDO + SBGK

nice that some people are getting some benefit out of my settings and are brave enough to report it.

I was hoping someone would be able to experiment further to see if there were other benefits to be gained. I can't believe that it is just Soundcheck and myself who have recognised what can be done by tweaking the Touch settings. Though he is after a Naim sound (over analytical) and I am after a Linn sound (detailed and musical).

2000+ reads of my blog, so someone must be reading it.

    Help?

Hay all, I just recently discovered Squeezebox and wanted to play my 192k files and so installed EDO with awesome results, however today my 192k files are all outputting static. I see references to TT3.0 and I attempted to download it, but it appears that it's been taken offline? The site I checked is http://touchtoolbox.sourceforge.net/ but the downloads link says there are no files in this project.

Can someone help me out with a link that works please?

Soundcheck TT3.0 is here (but I'd solve my other problems first with the TOUCH and EDO, which has nothing to do with Soundcheck TT3.0.

    http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com/

and there are certain issues about installing both (order of install, etc.). there are lots of threads on this, search the forum for triode's EDO info. Also, I believe, but not positive, that you can't follow soundcheck's recommendation for server side decoding of FLAC files for sending PCM to the TOUCH if you want to use EDO to work with 24/192 files. That's all in the threads as well. Good luck.

Thank you very much for answering Triode, here is my email: lindapleamar@gmail.com . If you are so kind so send me a diff, I would be delighted.
