I don't have one, but just from your description of it it is most likely running UAC2, OSX contains a UAC2 driver builtin and windows does not. So the windows driver is most likely a UAC2 driver. One of the parts of EDO is a UAC2 driver so it seems like there is a decent probability that this DAC should work with EDO. Not guaranteed because some manufacturers seem to be able to create devices that won't work in some situations.

Is there a list of confirmed working/non-working USB DAC?

    Thanks

    EDO and Arcam rWave

    Hi,

Would this work with the Arcam rWave? Would be very interesting as a living room ambient audio solution The Touch could sit near the sofa for the whole family to use whilst wirelessly playing to an Arcam rCube.

Subject: TE8802L: Please provide full Linux/SBT - Compatibility for asynchronous mode

    Att.: Mr. Info Chiu

    Dear Sir

I own a recent DAC. This incorporates a TE8802L - Chip as a USB interface.

However, I was unfortunately disappointed, when I wanted to use it, to listen to music from my Linux-based music transport, the SBT, "Squeezebox Touch" from Logitech (with the "Enhanced Digital Output App"). There was a compatiblity issue, and the manufacturor of my DAC could not provide for any suitable drivers. It seems, that they are not yet developped for the TE8802L.

This does not only concern myself. There is a very large computer-audio-using community using Linux-based systems, who would like to connect their DACs in Asynchronous Mode, by Audio Class V2.0. You can easily confirm this by reading in forums where some consumers of hifi-equipments exchange their experiencies.

Other asynchronous interfaces connect to Linux natively and work flawlessly.

This concerns not only computer users, but as well the large community of Linux-based "Logitech Squeezebox Touch" users, who want to use the optimal quality by using the USB port for the asynchronous connection of a USB DAC (with the "Enhanced Digital Output App")

I hope, that you will soon provide asynchronous USB compatibility for Linux, in cooperation with the Linux developer community. I hope that you assure, that those drivers get incorporated with the next software upgrade for the Logitech Squeezebox. Please cooperate with the Squeezebox developers for this.

I thank you very much in advance for your attention and your efforts in providing a largely compatible USB Audio Class V2.0 interface, and I am looking forward to your answer.

    Sincerely yours!

I just sent it! Post it here when you did it, too!!! THANKS
    Hello Diego,

Audio-gd is asking there user if they have problem with the TE8802L. I have send them this:

    Hello,

I own a 9.2 and I am trying to connect it to the a squeezebox touch via usb
port with the Enhanced Digital Output app. A lot of people are having the same
problem as me with the TE8802. Please see:

No mention is made of it requiring a driver, so it is most likely a UAC1 async interface. This means you will probably need to use a high speed (USB2.0) hub between the Touch and rWave. Given the above there is a fairly good chance it will work, but until someone actually tries it you can't be sure.

i am new the the squeezbox touch and am thinking about getting one but have a question or two about it before buying. i want to be able to do the following:

use a 500gb or 1tb USB 2.0/3.0 hard-drive* > squeezebox touch USB port > digital coax output > into a external standalone DAC's digital coax input > analog out to pre-amp, amp & speakers.

*USB hard-drive will have high resolution FLAC up to 192khz/24bit audio files on it.

does the squeezebox USB input support 176 & 192khz files from a HD and will the digital coax/s-pdif output support 176 & 192khz files out?

if not, will the app mentioned for use in this thread solve this? From the squeeze boxes digital coax i'll go into a seperate DAC with a digital coax input and analog output that (i am already sure) supports 176 & 192khz.

believe it or not, this is going to go in my car, if it works out! my car receiver has analog inputs and that's where i'll connect the analog output of my DAC to. i'm just trying to avoid buying a squeeze box if it won't work the way i have it mentioned above.

thank you in advance for anyone who helps me. the squeeze box doesn't mention what the highest resolution for the digital outputs are(as far as i can tell) it only mentiones the highest resolution for it's DAC. as i said, i don't own a squeezebox (yet) but if it's confirmed that this will work then i'll be buying one).

    Please & Thank You!

    Not working with McIntosh C48

No luck with this app so far with me. It installed fine but couldn't see my DAC. I'm using a McIntosh C48 with the USB update to asynchronous input. When trying to use the optical outputs after installing the app I get only a few seconds of music to play and then the audio goes silent. Any ideas on what I should look at first?

    EDO and local LMS

    Hello,
Does it make sense to use EDO with a local server running on the Touch and both DAC and usb drive attached to the player through a hub ?

Quick question if I may - I've installed the plugin and selected digital out (running coax from Touch to PS Audio Digital Link III) - played a 24/192 file and the file plays on the DAC but is only seen as 24/96 - does one need to change SOX settings to ensure that 24/192 is passed through the Touch unmodified?

Linux finally gets a great audio tagger: puddletag - now packaged in most Linux distributions.
