Port switched from 9000 to 9002

After installing Twonky Server, port 9000 on my PC took me to Twonky and not Logitech Media Server.

Eventually I opened the Control Panel and the buttons for "Web Remote Control" and "Advanced Settings" took me to the new URLs, using port 9002 instead of 9000. So, I fixed my bookmarks, and problem solved.

Clearly the Logitech Media Server had discovered that Twonky had barged in on port 9000, so the server did the courteous thing and switched to port 9002.

Is there any other way than looking in the Control Panel for the active port settings? This is in the "Advanced Settings", and that interface seems to be web-only, which is a bit of a Catch-22 if you wanted to do it all without resorting to the Control Panel...

Just set it in LMS to anything another media server won't use, I use port 9010. Probably fine with 9002 from now on.

There's more than one way to do it:
- The server.log file will include some information about the port the server's using
- Some system utilities could list the network sockets the server process is using
- You can use the server discovery mechanism to retrieve the port being used by a server instance

Is it not there in the server.prefs file too , you can edit it directly .

It's only the windows and MAC versions that has a control panel ,the linux or nas versions only have the web-UI .
(but the web-UI has all settings except the one to make the win version run as a service , this is the only use the control panel has other it is rather redundant and unecessary and the control panel is sometimes buggy so make settings in the web-UI) .

So before the dynamic port switching people edited there server prefs file to change port if for example twonky grabbed it on a NAS .

And as i understands it LMS only changes port if something else is occupying port 9000 (or whatever it is using )

You could as suggested use the web-UI or control panel to set it to 9010 or so that probably nothing is using,
