if on a windows machine, right click on LMS in lower right side windows "tray", select LMS control panel, click on advanced tab, toward bottom is a place under cleanup to "clean cache folder" (check this one, but NOT the delete preferences). Then click run cleanup. you don't really get any notice it is done and should take only a second or two

I'm running on Ubuntu so no idea about clearing the cache. It's a clean install though and has never worked. Trying firefox in 'safe' mode - ie no cache - or ie doesn't work. I'll post over on the unix board and see if anyone's got any thoughts. Thanks for your help though - much appreciated.

Get the location of the cache from the WebUI Settings/Information - "cache folder" directory is near the bottom of thr page.
Stop LMS and then delete the templates directory from "Cache" directory.
To clear Firefox Browser cache press CTRL & Click Refesh (also CTRL & F5 may work)Last edited by bpa; 2012-04-05 at 15:30.

Fixed it - clearing the cache didn't sort it but certainly pointed me in the right direction.
I ended up uninstalling the package, removing the left-over files under /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/ and then reinstalling 7.7.2, at which point the 3rd party plugin option appeared.
Cheers for your patience with this. I don't have the time to tat around like I used to so I'm getting lazy in my old age and asking the experts
Thanks again!
