this station not available in your country

I'm in China and for 12+ hours now the vast majority of the radio stations we listen to through msb.com return a "not available in your country" recorded message. These are US, UK, and several European based stations. Strangely one Chicago station [WCPT] is the only one we've found that still works! Using a TuneIn app on an iPod also returns an error message [even for WCPT] that the station has "no entries in playlist" so it's apparently not just msb.com issues. We can access all using our VPN, though it's not set up with our 2 squeezeboxes.

Is anyone else [in China or otherwise] experiencing this? A guy did fly a kite into the high power lines here in the main Shanghai financial district knocking out our power for a while yesterday [talk about low level threats] and the radio access issues began shortly after that - but can't quite see a connection there.

Thanks for the note about the other thread - yes, it appears to be a Chinese phenomenon. I'll follow up on the other thread.

Last time I looked PA ( where I live) is not in China and it happens to me several times a week. EVERYTIME that has happened it has been on a Clear Channel station. It seems Clear Channel has gone over it IHeart Radio and I have a feeling that is what is causing it. I have heard all of Logitech's excuses as to not having an IHeart Radio app yet. When these stations fully go over to IHeart our SB will best be used for our own music only and local radio stations will be gone. LogiTech was always a leader in these things, seems that is no longer the case. Very sad indeed.
If I hit another preset and then back it works 80% of the time, doing it again a 2nd time usually works, sometimes the FF works, sometimes not. Has become a real P.I.T.A on my SB Radio and my local station. Never happens on my Pandora presets nor any non Clear Channel stations.
    Oh well...

That's a different issue. The China users are being filtered to only show China stations, absolutely nothing else is viewable or playable.
Absent the Clear Channel issue (which I'd guess is US only) there are thousands of other TuneIn stations from around the world, and China users cannot see any of them.

Try adding the Shoutcast app and using that instead... Shoutcast has thousands of internet-only radio stations from all over the world. TuneIn is used more for accessing regular terrestrial radio stations over the internet.
Squeezebox devices: Boom, Duet, and Radio
DLNA devices: Sony Bravia TV, WMP11 on Win7
LMS 7.7.2 running on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus

ShoutCast will have some, but not all of what TuneIn offers. Same going the other way, TuneIn will not have all of the stations that ShoutCast offers.

Install ShoutCast app, then go to My Apps > ShoutCast > Genres > Classical, should list hundreds of stations. You will have to scroll through the offerings to find any specific station. Or use the ShoutCast > Search function.

I'd also recommend using the ShoutCast > Settings > Bitrate Filtering, set it to 128k (or higher, mine is set to 192k). This will filter out all of the lower bitrate (lower audio quality) streams.
