There is some improvement done in change 9674 in the 7.8 branch regarding making the alarm less sensitive to use it's fallback and some other issues, but I don't think it's carried over to 7.7.x ?
http://svn.slimdevices.com/jive/7.8/?view=log
Edit: details here http://svn.slimdevices.com/jive/7.8/...3&pathrev=9674
http://svn.slimdevices.com/jive/7.7/?view=log
What's not explained in that tread is that the sound effects comes from mysqueezebox.com so birds and train whistle etc is not built into the radio there just like internet radio stations .
so it's the same issue as when people gets disco when using a radio station for alarm .
And this forum is filled with treads about it .
Now they made a change to make it less sensitive to small glitches in Internet connectivity for 7.8 this will help in some cases, but not if you actually have a real issue with flaky Internet connection .Last edited by Mnyb; 2012-03-30 at 21:27.

Thnx for the heads up Mnyb-
Is there an ETA FOR 7.8 to be released.
This morning no Disco music heard- so I am hoping it has adressed the issue much better than it's been.

Here are the contact names I sent my letter to regarding this bug and still no response.
That's pretty sad to not even address a concern from a customer
Is this a good list of higher ups who would have the courtesy to respond?
bracken_darell@logitech.com
nancy_morrison@logitech.com; info@logitech.com; ehtisham_rabbani@logitech.com
Thnx again Mnyb for the info.

The only thing after the latest update that changed on my radio was I had to reinstall the weather app and re-setup my screensaver.

I don't know if these people at Logitech apply or not, but I've had good luck with getting contacts for senior company personnel by going to their "Investor Relations" page. Try digging around for email contacts that way. I've found "very high ups" when I had problems before (Garmin and Gateway) and ended up getting treated very satisfactorily.
