Hello,
I got a boom second hand and want to use it on my bike. It'll be fixed on the bike ... It shall be powered by a battery...
Is car voltage ok i.e 12 to 14.4V ?
Or does it need 12VDC flat?
Can the boom be used as an amplifier for say an iPhone via analogue in? Do I need Logitech Media Server for that?
Thanks
Jeronimo

duct tape? ;-)
not sure about the power issue, but the boom does have a line-in plug that would allow you to plugin an iphone or other portable player and act as an amplifier for such player. Be sure to set the volume of the input line as the default may be too low.
p.s. Seems like an odd choice as almost all the primary functions of the Boom will require you to be connected to the internet or a local network at least. Yes, you can use it as speakers/amp with an iphone attached, but it seems there would be better (and smaller) options.Location 1: VortexBox Appliance 6TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet)
Location 2: VBA 3TB (2.2) > LMS 7.7.2 > Touch > Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (all ethernet except Radio)
Office: Win7(64) > LMS 7.7.2 > SqueezePlay
Spares: VBA 4TB, SB3, Touch (3), Radio (3), CONTROLLER
Controllers: iPhone4S (iPeng), iPad2 (iPengHD & SqueezePad), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.7 on Win7(64) laptop
Ripping (FLAC) - dbpoweramp, Tagging - mp3tag, Spotify

Are you riding a tandem? Might help the high power consumption if feeding
through a dynamo :-)
