I have Boom, Duet and Classic but also have a Transporter and Touch. I'm gradually building a collection of 24/96 files and that has given me a problem.
I have just bought a QNAP TS-119P II to replace my older low power QNAP. I assumed this would be able to handle the 'on the fly' processing for the hi-res files but sadly it can't. Its processor runs up to 100% yet its only around 8% on normal files. This means the the first group of devices stutter or stop altogether when they encounter a hi-res file. The problem of course only arises if I select random, which is what my wife prefers. If I'm using the device by selecting albums etc I know which to avoid.
I'm wondering if its possible to direct each group of players to its own music folder on the same QNAP, one of which would have no hi-res files.
Sorry, this is long-winded but I would really like to use just one server rather than keep a server PC and the QNAP both on all day.
Thanks
