I have a dead boom. Dead baby dead. When powered up, the lights behind the controls slowly blink but it does not respond to resets. Logitech support had no other suggestions, but they did offer me a 50% off coupon for some other product which i am happy with.
So if you want this-- for parts or because you have some secret knowledge that eludes me and would restore this to the full glory that is The Boom-- pm me with your best offer. I would take cash, music, or french wine (along with the cost of shipping the boom from the Portland Oregon area).
Cheers

Seems to be a common way for the boom to die. Mine also did. Will they all be gone that way some day??

My Boom also died
My Boom also died - after not having been used for quite a while. The button lights are on, but the reset doesn't work. Contacted Logitech customer service, they didn't give any useful advice, just confirmed that I now have a "brick". That's not how the decent company should treat its customers.
I see a number of postings about similar Boom's deaths. Maybe the class action lawsuit against Logitech for selling the great, but prematurely dying device will wake up the company?

Lots of luck with that.

The product survived it's warranty/guarantee period so the manufacturer is under no legal obligation to fix or replace it. It sucks and I sympathize with you, but that's the reality of this unfortunate situation.
If you want to instigate such a Class Action law suit, have at it. But it will almost certainly go nowhere.
To pursue this further I'd suggest you:
1. Contact a Class Action attorney and describe your issue (assuming they will give you more than 5 minutes before hanging up).
2. Start a web site for the purposes of.....
---- explaining the issue(s)
---- offer an online petition for users with same/similar issues to sign up
---- offer a way to keep in touch with these users (email)
3. Promote this site on any and all appropriate sites/forums/blogs/etc...
Might want to do (will likely NEED to do) 2 & 3 first, then promote the results to a Class Action attorney. But again, I really think this route is a complete waste of time and I'll bet any such Class Action attorney will tell you the same.
