Squeezeb I feel your pain, or should I say I did. See my thread and in particular what worked for me here...

    http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...t=92597&page=5

I know people suggest all sorts of solutions but like you none worked although 4 other players held their signal no problem but the radio was as unstable as an MFI wardrobe!

The access point I used was a surplus hub, I was about to splash out on £150 router but read if people who had done the same but only for radio to drop again.

Let us know how you get on
    2 Booms, 1 radio, a touch and an SB3...think that's enough?

Everything's still running. No dropouts. Spent the last 24 hrs running 2 SB3s, 2 Booms along with the Radio. No problems, no dropouts.

Like I'd posted, I just got a new router. Didn't futz with _anything_ including reserving IP under DHCP. The Radio is still, however, assigned a static IP outside the DHCP range. No port forwarding, no nothing. Just plugged router in, and let it do its thing. Running WPA2-Personal.

So who knows? It could've been the router, could've been the firmware update/LMS update. I'll continue to post uptime/updates as edits to my post immediately preceding yours.

I have similar problems with SqueezeBox Radio. The network radio stations play for a while and then suddenly stops playing until I press the channel preset button again. Also red WiFi signal icon has been appearing ocassionally without reason. Signal strenght is allways between 50% and 80%. I think the problems got worse after the latest Media Server version and Radio firmware update.
Is there any information how to solve this really annoying problem? Can the Radio be downgraded or is it necessary to be same version as the Media Server?

I have the same issue here also. I have 3 wireless SBR's and 2 of them work flawlessly. My latest SBR just dropped wifi last night, red icon. Rebooting does nothing. I'm going to reset, and see if that helps.

Edit: Reset worked. Reconnected to wifi, no other changes. This SBR is about a month old, no issues until last night. Let's see if it happens again....

I did complete reboot and factory reset but the same behaviour came back after couple of days. This is really pissing me off. I'm about to throw the SBR out of the window and buy PAL network radio instead.
Please, Logitech, fix the firmware soon, thank you.

This is a user to user forum. If you'd like to complain to logitech, you should post at their official forums, where someone from logitech might read your comment. A call to customer service gets their attention as well. See official forums here:

Can we actually always assume it is the firmware , there are these kind of complaints every fw upgrade or server upgrade ? I do run the beta fw and installed almost every one the beta fw to and never had these kind of problems .
If I get wifi problems I've found the problems elsewhere in my wifi environment .

I don't think they mess with the wlan part of fw very often ? for reference does anyone knows if or when there have been wlan related changes in the fw ?

agree. I have two radios (one always wifi, one sometimes wifi) and through several versions of firmware/LMS nothing has changed regarding my WIFI performance. I run both these RADIOS synched to another player and all works well (streaming internet radio several hours a day and/or streaming my own FLAC files).

As always, use something like inSSIDer or netstumbler to look at local WIFI channels being used and choose the channel with lowest number of other users, etc. Best to use 1, 6, or 11 if possible. Also do NOT "hide" your SSID (as this is not security and can cause issues with SB players). I also use a fixed IP (true fixed, not reserved) on all my SB stuff, but I don't think this is necessary....

Why? After it's connected, it doesn't matter one bit. I "un-hid" and immediately "re-hid" my SSID after setting up my SBR and never had any problems.

Because hiding your SSID is a worthless security feature.
