    It's getting worse

I have been using the nightly builds on ubuntu server for years. But the current releases are performing so badly (screen response, no artwork, not doing anything) that I am wondering - are you overloading a perfect solution to the point that it becomes unusable...

    Wrong forum.

You can find the official Logitech forum for LMS here.

Um.. wrong forum? This forum may not be the "Official" Logitech forum, but Logitech developers visit here regularly, and the post was made in a forum about Logitech Media Server, so I don't think it's in the wrong place.

While I can't say that I've had the OP's experience (maybe my music library isn't big enough) with LMS on my Linux-based ReadyNAS, I don't see any problem with the post or where it was made.
Squeezebox devices: Boom, Duet, and Radio
DLNA devices: Sony Bravia TV, WMP11 on Win7
LMS 7.7.2 running on a ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus

I have quite the opposite experience it is better then ever for me ? depend on a lot of things ?

Whine post on official forum ;-)

Any particular issue ? well described nb ? then someone here might have advice or help ?

it sucks , is not the most detailed fault description......

It should work try to log something and start with a particular issue then the rest will follow.

"No artwork" ? this sounds like a failed scan or corrupt database ? if this is the case then nothing will work, but it can be something else who knows .

Ubuntu I know that there have been some issues installing recently, purgeing 7.6 after installing 7.7 broke things for example ?

            1. The nightlies are beta builds, they are supposed to have bugs.
            2. did you clear the browser cache?

Definitely second the motion for suggestion #2. I've used LMS and its predecessors on Fedora Core for a number of years and the few times I've had goofy database problems after an upgrade, it was fixed by stopping the service, completely deleting the cache, and restarting things.

              That's /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache on my machine.

The browser cache and the database cache are two completely separate items.

Yes. I meant the browser cache.
"Clear and Rescan" to clear the database would be the next step but I'd try browser cache first from the symptoms mentioned.

                    OK, it's not so bad

I have deleted the cache and things seem to be ok again. I have tried the various steps some time ago and was still getting bad response times. I guess I was getting a bit frustrated.

With a little help from my friends.
