I had been a satisfied user of Spicefly Sugarcube ever since getting my squeezebox several years ago. However, ever since I made a small donation last year I appear to have been stuck with a version that doesn't work properly (It is 3.02 I believe).
As an example, I have 30-40 albums from the 60's out of a total of more than 1200 but Spicefly now insists on queueing up tracks from these albums no matter what kind of music I have used as a seed and most of the rest of my collection seems to be ignored.
It is a great shame as It really worked well for me before. Anyway, I was wondering if these is any other software around that performs a similiar function, ideally when used with musicIP.
Thanks

There have been several versions of Spicefly Sugarcube since v3.02, the latest being v3.51. Have you tried out any of these later versions?

Thanks,
the only version I seem to be able to get via the respository link is 3.02. I was never given a login to the Spicefly site so don't have access to anything later.
Had a feeling I saw a reference to another package that performed a similiar function in the past which is why I asked.

There's no viable alternative and spicefly sugarcube works brilliantly. Contact cparker and sort out access to the latest version.

I agree you should contact cparker about getting your credentials so you can get the latest version, but there is an alternative. See message #5 in this thread to learn about Dynamic Mix from Philip Meyer: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...ht=Dynamic+Mix

Yes, my plugin is a possible alternative.
Dynamic Mix started from parts of an older version of Sugar Cube. I only used the Dynamic Playlist support in SugarCube, and wanted to extend and at the same time simplify that to fix some bugs that I had discovered.
Potentially, you may suffer similar symptoms. It could be down to MusicIP and/or settings that you have configured for choosing related songs. i.e. it could be that your variety setting is too low, that you have a filter that is causing it to ignore other albums, etc.
Beware also that it depends on Dynamic Playlist plugin (developed by Erland), which you may need to play a small fee for (not sure - Dynamic Playlist might still be a free plugin, as on its own it doesn't provide much functionality).

Thanks for the replies everyone.
I do not mind paying a samll fee, so I will give Philip Meyer's and Elland's plugin's a go.
With regard to the various settings in Spicefly Sugarcube, I agree that it could possibly be my settings that are causing problems but if that is the case I cannot for the life of me understand why on;y a few albums from the 60's are included along with a random few others and I have moved the settings around.
What I really liked about spicefly sugarcube when I first used it was that I didn't have to do ANY tweaking - it just kinda worked - and worked well too.
Once again, thanks for the suggestions.

My experience (I'm also having a hard time to get SugarCube to act like I want) is that this is mainly dependent on the MusicIP settings and it's the same in Phil's plugin, although I like Phil's plugin somewhat better than Sugarcube because I can just turn it off by playing something else and it doesn't change a whole bunch of other unrelated behaviors.
Although... I use SugarCube in the Bathroom because here I want to make sure there's always something queued up, no fun if the music ends while you are in the shower....
But back to topic, here's my gotcha: For me the issue was that you now seem to _have_ to use the per-player MusicIP settings, no matter what the plugin says (both plugins) in the general setting... Wait, Phil's plugin only has per-player settings anyway but in SugarCube and MusicIP there's an option to not use per-player settings with MusicIP and that doesn't work as of my experience, you always have to configure the settings per player or they are set to ridiculous defaults.---
