Since it's an ARM box you will probably be better off with Shine: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.ph...or_transcoding

Installed LMS 7.7.2 beta on an NV+ v2 one week ago.
It runs smoothly, I'm very satisfied and I did not found issues to report at the moment.

I mainly use "music folder" navigation in a 38000+ tracks music tree and I experienced many lost connection issues between the the player and the NAS while exploring folder on my old Duo v1 and now I'm pleased to see that I don't have this issue anymore.

    Thanks again.

    Beta or official add-on?

I just bought an Logitech NASDuo v2 and I want to use it with several Squeezeboxes. I heard that there is no official add-on for Duo V2 yet? Is this right? Which beta can I use?

Logitech Media Server: NETGEAR ReadyNas Duo/NV V2 Installer (ARM) logitechmediaserver-7.7.2-33869-arm-readynas.bin 22.53 MB
    Is this the right one?

    How should I install it??...because it's a .bin file?

Thanks for any help, Sorry, but I'm all new to this.

Browse to your readynas dashboard website > Add-ons section > "add new" icon (rounded icon with a + at upper right corner) > browse the .bin file > upload > confirm installation...

    Downsample?

    Hi all,

Just looking for clarification on sox / downsampling on the readynas v2...

I have succesfully used an NV+ v1 for running 7.7.2 streaming to my SB+ and Boom BUT hit problems when playing 24/96 FLAC as the v1 would not / did not downsample to 24/48. So I had to use dbpa to create 24/48 versions.

Can someone confirm that the NV+ v2 can succesfully downsample from 24/96 FLAC to 24/48 for playing on the older squeezeboxes? Not sure if the stats Michael provided earlier in the thread were for transcoding or downsampling.

Given the low prices currently in the UK for the NV+ v2 it might be worth an upgrade if downsampling works 'out of the box'!

    Thanks

    Andrew

My Synology DS212J has been acting as my SB server for last year but the time taken to scan my music (1TB) has got longer and longer and now LMS seems not to be able to scan at all . Logitech have advised it is a Perl incompatability issue and unlike ReadyNas the Synology was never an approved product for the SB range. The Synology experts have been looking at this for weeks but seem to have no solution either - other than confirming it is a known issue with large music files.

Am I now better off ditching Synology and buying this : http://www.ebuyer.com/290545-netgear...nd2000-200eus# or could I end up in a similar scenario now SB has been phased out.

    Any advice greatfully received

    Tim

On PC/Mac it's a simple menu selection in the LMS Control Panel. On a NAS you must hunt down the Cache folder manually and delete it's contents, then reboot LMS.

and readynas really locks down ability to access various folders on the NAS, so it takes a bit of hacking to be able to access these subdirectories on a ReadyNas.
