MOG ‘failed to parse’ issue on squeezebox touch.

    Hi folks,

I have been having an issue with MOG on my squeezebox touch.

Strangely if i wanted to switch from using MOG to listening to my own library (streaming from my MBP) i had to use the logitech remote to navigate up to ‘My Music’ on the touch screen as this option was not avail to me on squeezecommander remote on my Galaxy S2.

This would then render the MOG option on both SC and the touchscreen unusable. When i choose the MOG option i get a ‘failed to parse’ message. However by choosing rhapsody from the touchscreen menu (I dont have a rhapsody account however have the app on my SBT) then navigating back, the MOG option becomes viable again on both SC and the touch screen. But the My Music again disappears from my SC menu.

This was an annoyance however since returning from holidays moving over to My Music now renders the MOG option unusable and the bizzare Rhapsody solution does not work. Each time i want to move back to MOG after listening to ‘My Music’ i have to do a factory reset wherby MOG is avail again (until i again choose ‘My Music’).

If anyone can shed any light on this it would be much appreciated

    Thankyou

    Ruddiger

I don't use MOG but I'm guessing it should be fully usable while on the LMS server. What computer and OS are you using for LMS? Which LMS version?

Best guess is a networking issue where your LMS cannot see the internet so selecting MOG forces the player to switch to MySB.com online.
    - Can you play any internet streams while connected to LMS?
    - Is your MySB login info present and correct on LMS?
    - If using a PC or Mac, tried LMS > Control Panel > Diagnostics, what is reported for ALL pings, ports, IP's?

I use MOG and works just fine from Lms. No switch to mysb.com needed.

MOG failed to parse issue on squeezeboxtouch.

Are you running the latest LMS release with the MOG plugin enabled?

I was running the latest LMS release, i then reinstated the previous one to see if that would help. The issue was the same using either.

I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.6

As far as is the MOG plug in enabled? How do i check for this?

I can use internet radio at all times.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    ps

One issue that has caught my eye, when i bring up http://www.mysqueezebox.com/player/viewPlayers on my browser it says status: Not Connected

Now i am completely new to this sort of thing so bear with me, but is the not connected issue above likely to be a culprit.

No player is either using your local LMS server or mysqueezebox.com it is not conected to both at the same time.
However the local server uses mysb.com in the background.

Check in the web-UI for LMS ( not the controll panel, nor mysqueezebox.com ) settings > mysqueezebox.com did you enter your account here ?

And while in the settings you find a plugin tab to rumage around there and see if MOG is enabled.

Your player is connected to LMS on your computer, your player is then "not connected" on MySB.com, this is correct.

I can access the LMS UI through system preferences and all seems ok. I have looked in the LMS UI and MOG is enabled.
Under the mysqueezebox.com tab it has my email and an empty password box.

If i go to www.mysqueezebox.com it says status: not connected, however i am logged in an can view my settings

To be clear, make sure you understand the relationship between LMS and mysqueezebox.com. As mentioned previously, YOU CAN ONLY BE CONNECTED TO ONE OR THE OTHER AT ANY GIVEN TIME, NOT BOTH.

So if your TOUCH is connected to your local LMS, when you login to mysqueezebox.com, the TOUCH will show up as "not connected". This is because it is instead connected to LMS.

    Double check a few things:

    1. at your account on mysqueezebox.com, I assume you have added the MOG app (from app gallery, you install MOG). Then it is in your "my apps" and you have to enter your login credentials for MOG there.

    2. Separately, in the LMS running on your local computer, go to the WebGUI from your webbrowser:
    http://localhost:9000/
(if accessing on same computer where LMS is running), or
    http://192.168.1.18:9000/
if accessing from a DIFFERENT computer on your local network, but the 192.168.1.18 should be replaced with the IP address of the computer running LMS.

    3. once in the LMS webGUI, look at lower right of page and select SETTINGS. Then it will open the SETTINGS webpage. Click on the PLUGINS tab. Find MOG (it may be under 3rd party plugins, and you need to check a box for it to show all 3rd party plugins). After selecting MOG, hit apply and it will ask you to restart LMS. Do this. After restart, go back to LMS > SETTINGS > PLUGINS, find MOG, which should now be active. Click on SETTINGS next to MOG and enter your MOG credentials.

Now MOG should work both when you use LMS or when you use mysb.com.

At my account on mysqueezebox.com i have MOG installed. When i click on MOG it says installed/configure.

On LMS in settings - plugins MOG is listed and the box next to it is ticked.
