IMHO it is a music streamer (i.e. player), not a music server.
Maybe interesting, definitely expensive ;-)Carsten

If I was to invest $1250 in that part of my system, I'd rather spend it all on a DAC that I could plug my Touch into.
The Touch has all the functionality, and a $1250 DAC (that was worth its salt) would probably have better sound than I'll ever need. And probably better sound than any streaming device that comes at that same price.

It's not even clear if this Moon device has analogue outputs. The specs mention digital outputs, but not analogue. (I know, because I searched for them to see if it had balanced analogue outputs, which of course any >$1000 streamer bloody well ought to have). And the web page is careful not to show any pictures of its connectors.
If this is simply a TCP -> SPDIF converter that you need a separate DAC for, then it seems a trifle expensive.Transporter -> ATC SCM100A

I own a Sim Audio power amp and preamp and I really like them however until more details about the device are released it would appear that the Moon 180 MiND is just another example of a well respected high end audio manufacturer trying to cash in on the computer audio craze with another way over priced brick. I say because from what information I gather at the moment this device appears to almost exactly what the $300 SB Touch does minus the touch screen and the ability to wirelessly stream 24 bit/88.2 and 96 kHz (as per this posting: http://www.audiostream.com/content/simaudio-mind)
