Since thinking rationally about audio and relying more on science and measurements (XTZ analyzer etc) two things have happened:
    1. The sound I am experiencing has improved greatly because (I believe) I've been focussing on things that really matter.
    2. Although the sound has improved I've become more aware of how limited sound quality is under normal conditions, in absolute terms. I'm happy with my gear - I can't think of anything I'd want instead so I am lucky. It's just I've got real about how good audio replay can be in real domestic environments with normal recordings.

    (1) and (2) sound contradictory but basically it's a process of constantly downgrading my opinion about my current SQ (for my set up/music) - whilst downgrading opinion of my past SQ even more severely! He-he.

At last - I knew it would happen, but sadly I don't think it will last.

SBGK & MagicCrapitRight off the TT3.0 thread and pi@*ing in someone else's thread.

Now if they would just start their own thread to pursue their flight of delight and perfect enhancement, preferably with a closed membership of two..

That is something that would improve listening experience immeasurably..

You have a point. The exorbitant price tag associated with the solutions Soundcheck and SBGK have offered with their SBT tweaks will certainly drive away many hi fi novices. I mean, few of us can afford to throw that kind of cash at our audio system.

Here is hoping that more knowledgeable members will step in and offer more affordable solutions. Christmas comes but once a year, and sadly I've blown all my Christmas presents cash on buying SBGK's tweaks. I'm not made out of money, you know.

Please, keep on posting whatever you like. The more you post, the clearer the picture. That post of yours about the audible differences between browsers was highly illuminating. It was a big help in putting your other claims into perspective.

    pay attention at the back

interesting you bring that up, the point of that post was to highlight psychological influences of which the browser was an example, never mind that though, it has provided a cheap laugh or two.

    here is the post

no, ie9 sounded sweeter. might be totally psychological, but these were the results from a totally unscientific test last night, although it seemed repeatable. I don't even believe it myself, but thought it was interesting anyway.

it's also a lesson in how people react to ideas which are different from their mindset.

as for anything else that has been suggested you will need to try them to see if there is an effect or not.

Difference between you and me boy?

I know I have nothing to offer other than meaningful feedback to serious developments.

Let's keep it simple here and in perspective..

Imagine Logitech invented the Model T Ford (you still with me boy? - thats the SBT)

Now supposing Soundcheck came along and offered a modified (software) engine - You probably don't get Cosworth over there, but look it up.

Now along comes SBGK who works on the Cosworth engine, well when I say works on, tightens a couple of bolts.

And along you come to polish the bodywork.

    You still with me boy?

Now, take your UK mate - SBGK, go and do what you want us to believe you can do, (improve on Soundchecks mods) and report back when you get somewhere.

Clue: that means trying to emulate what the inventor of the Cosworth engine (above) does rather than sniffing the polish.

you are not up to speed on the thread, you missed some nuance in the point, or you are continuing the insider joke
