    LMS 7.7 on gentoo

Hi - There's been no gentoo ebuild since squeezeboxserver-7.5 so
I wonder if anyone has advice for the best way to install newer
version on gentoo ... (or maybe there is no reason to upgrade,
or some reason not to). Any advice appreciated.

    hi all

have the same "problem" ... would be great if LMS 7.7 could be added to portage! so as it has been said before: any advice appreciated

I contacted Stuart Hickinbottom who produced the
squeezeboxserver ebuilds. He said he'd try to get
to it when he found time .... Hope he does. It's a
    complex ebuild.

    LMS 7.7 on gentoo

    Sorry for the extended silence...

I've produced an ebuild for LMS 7.7.2 and this is currently in review
for inclusion in Portage. I hope it will get through that review and be
    included soon.

The impatient and adventurous (and who can blame you - it's been ages!)
could try the ebuild from my github repository:
    https://github.com/hickinbottoms/log.../tree/7.7.2-b3

The ebuild is a 'binary' ebuild (it'll be
media-sound/logitechmediaserver-bin) and hence should be installable
without the huge number of Perl dependencies that have made producing
and maintaining the ebuild so difficult, as well as so difficult to
    install.

Again, sorry for the delay but I'm hopeful we're nearly there now.

    Stuart

Now that LMS has "gone binary" (probably a good idea) I wonder if there's
an easy to way to find all the perl modules that the old squeezeboxserver
    depended on?

I'd like to get rid of them if they're no longer needed

    TIA

EDIT: it looks like's there is a good list in the old ebuilds,
    so forget about this post
