When MusicIP is going through my library its log contains the following warning about many of my MP3 files:
Error decoding ID3 tag (invalid encoding)
How can I tell which specific tag it does not like?
I use MP3Tag, foobar2000 and MediaMonkey to set various tags.

Just guessing here but maybe it doesn't like ID3v2.4 tags? I've found ID2v2.3 is better to use for broader compatibility. I'm pretty sure you can use mp3tag to convert 2.4 to 2.3.
Worth a shot maybe.

That must have been it. I am not getting errors any more.

in the musicip mixer gui settings, you can select an option for id3 2.4
Setup: 1 Touch, 4 Booms and 1 Radio.
Server: LMS 7.7.3 (DebianVM in Proxmox), Subsonic

All of my mp3 files are v2.4, and MusicIP is fine with them.

It's probably the encoding as it says rather than the tag version. I.e. maybe it doesn't support UTF-8 or UTF-16?
