Mediafly has an announcement that it is stopping service in March, 2012. I currently use it for podcasts.
Yes, I know that I can manually program into mysqueezebox.com my own podcasts, but the main advantage of Mediafly is to create a playlist of feeds. I don't think that is possible to manually do in mysqueezebox.com
Therefore, it is the purpose of this posting to request that an alternate podcast "app" be brought into mysqueezebox.com
I have used Stitcher on my android phone and I like it.
Can we please bring Stitcher into mysqueezebox.com
Thanks

Bummer. I hope that something gets found to replace it in some manner. Not familiar with Stitcher but will give it a look. Mediafly was great because it worked on my Squeezeboxen as well as my Boxee Box...

My impression is that because Logitech lost $100 million in the Google TV Revue fiasco, it is has no money left over to support the Squeezebox ecosystem any longer.
Hello Logitech - are you working on getting us a replacement for Mediafly?

Thanks for the suggestion.
I added a bug report here:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=17864#c0
As mentioned in the bug report, if Logitech has problems getting an alternative podcast service like Stitcher, I suggested that the existing basic mysqueezebox's own podcast app have the added features of playlist creation and the ability to search for podcasts based upon keyword.
Playlists of podcasts is the top request because then you can listen for a longer time without having to load in a new podcast.

Added my vote.
Perhaps way could be added to import the Mediafly feeds in the LMS Podcasts plugin?
Instructions are detailed here (from http://forum.mediafly.com/topic.php?id=1305):
To export your existing OnAir subscriptions into an OPML format, just follow these steps:
1.) Go to onair.mediafly.com and log in to your OnAir account.
2.) In your browser address bar, paste the following link: onair.mediafly.com/opml.aspx
3.) You will be prompted to save or view the xml file, which you can then import into your preferred podcatcher.Last edited by bobharp; 2012-01-21 at 09:42. Reason: Additional thoughts

I don't use a server so I can't use any plugins. I exclusively use mysqueezebox.com.
I hope that Logitech is working on an alternative to Mediafly before Mediafly stops squeezebox service about a month from now. Several users have already voted on the bug list.Last edited by mortslim; 2012-02-19 at 15:20.

On the Logitech website, Logitech lists all the available services for the Squeezebox. Amongst those listed is "Podcast Alley".
See it listed here:
http://www.logitech.com/en-us/70/6432?WT.ac=psE|5570
However, I don't see this service listed on mysqueezebox.com in its "app gallery".
See the "app gallery" here:
http://mysqueezebox.com/appgallery
Is this something old that is no longer available?
Is this something new that will shortly be added to mysqueezebox.com?

Mediafly is NOT going out of business
Just to clarify, Mediafly is not going out of business. We are stopping the management of our free podcast app, OnAir, and the tech new app we ran, TWiT. We will continue to produce apps for a wide range of customers.
If you are interested in knowing more about what Mediafly is doing these days, visit our website at http://www.mediafly.com

Well, mediafly is stopping service for the Logitech squeezebox at the end of march, a few weeks away.
Maybe mediafly can help find us a replacement or help Logitech improve the native basic podcast app.
