Well the kids must be back at school !
After seeing Gordon's screen shots (how did he get them ?) I got myself a Nexus 7 and Orange Squeeze. Wow, this is good.
One "newby" question, in My Music, the standard Artists, Albums, Genres etc. show and Trackstat also appears but the two Spicefly menu items (that appear in the LMS GUI) do not.
Is this an Orange Squeeze or Spicefly issue ?A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee.

1.2.9 (and 1.2.8) released
So, you guys noticed that we released 1.2.8 and a quick-fix of that to 1.2.9. Good to get the cobwebs out of our head after a summer break... I attribute 1.2.8 to those cobwebs. Still not back on our regular schedule, but getting there.
Release notes:
1.2.9
- Fixed regression where server list would be empty.
1.2.8
- Fixed an issue where Wake-On-Lan packets would not be sent on startup (thanks go to Gordon Harris for a very detailed writeup for this issue).
- Fixed links to artist and album info from Now Playing screen for older server versions.
- Fixed support for phone-sized devices running Android 4.0 and higher where menu would not be available on the main screen, making it difficult to switch servers and access preferences.
- Fixed several isolated crashes reported on Google Play.

I'm definitely a fan of the Nexus 7, although my Kindle Fire, rooted + Cyanogen 9 is a great experience too.
The thing to look at is if the menu items come up on any of the Jive players like SqueezePlay (software) or the SB Touch. Menus that appear in the web interface are not necessarily visible or available in controller apps.
That said, I don't use Spicefly so I don't know exactly what you should expect.

Roamed to a different wifi and OS and Squeeze Player worked by IP with one input.
Came home and OS very gracefully offered to change to another server.
Handy note to Squeeze Player dev: I am able to play to the nexus seven both from my intranet and out in the real world. A fine feature.
OBike: is there a way to set a player's audio quality? This is really, really, really low priority but I might have to go back to DSL (where outbound is an issue when your collection is lossless.)
Please add way behind my need to touch a "header letter" for a single character prompt to position the list.

Press & hold on/off button + down volume rocker switch. The screen shot ends up in a PNG file in an album folder on the 7 named "Screenshot" which you can view via the Gallery app and xfer to your PC via a USB connection.
That's what I did: dragged the screen shots over to the PC, converted them to jpegs and massively reduced the jpeg image quality so the posts weren't huge. I.e., the original pngs (and the 7 screen) looked better than my screenshots that I posted. I was assuming that fairyliquidizer was primarily interested in layout issues. But I should have mentioned the image degradation in my posts in case the jpeg image compression artifacts weren't obvious.Last edited by gharris999; 2012-08-10 at 15:24.

db122, thank you for that explanation, the menu items do not appear on my Touch screen, so they obviously arn't "jived" yet.
Gordon, thank you for those instructions, you obviously read the Nexus 7 Guidebook more carefully than I did. The images were excellent, I didn't notice any artifacts.A camel is a racehorse designed by a committee.
