Ben - regarding the Extras menu: the items are already sent by the server (if there are plugins using it). You just need to manually create the parent 'Extras' node.
Did you know: SqueezePlayer will stream all your music to your Android device. Take your music everywhere!
Remote Control + Streaming to your iPad? Squeezebox + iPad = SqueezePad

    SoundHound

I tested OrangeSqueeze for a while, it is quicker than Logitech Squeezebox Controler. I like it.

A question - is it possible somehow to browse Albums or Artists quicker - by pushing a first letter?

It would be nice, if OrangeSqueeze has similar functions as SoundHound - wiki information, lyrics etc..

    Thanks.

For some reason I suddenly remembered Orange Squeeze this evening so I went to market and installed it. I am just comparing with SqueezeCommander which I have used for some time.

The first thing I like about Orange Squeeze is that it used the Android native widgets so it looks similar to other parts of Android. It also looks to work in some ways like the media player on ICS. So far it looks good - it has done most of the things I wanted. I am still getting used to it - I have the relationship of the screens in SqueezeCommander in my head and I have yet to get to that point with Orange Squeeze.

The only drawback I have found so far is that search seems to be offloaded to the server. If the server is fast this may be a good thing but if the server is not fast then local searching as done by SqueezeCommander is faster.

Yep, thanks, this was added in the 1.2.2 release that we did a stealth-launch of late last week. Some items in the extras menu work OK (custom browse), but others don't -- yet.

I'm on "Skyrim Break" this week, unless any more critical/crasher bugs are reported, but everyone can expect a maintenance release with lots of little quirks addressed in the near future.

If anyone is having problems with 1.2.2 and would like to revert back to 1.1.5 (for now, or permanently) then please PM me and I can arrange it.

Sounds so familiar. Only played 10 hours in the last two months, needs to change.

I'm embarrassed that it took me as long as it did to finally play. I just got summoned by the Greybeards, so we'll see where *that* leads. (Definitely into the high mountains!) :-)

    Orange Squeeze 1.2.3 released

This afternoon we pushed out version 1.2.3 (and then 1.2.4!) to the various markets. Lots of bug fixing and a few targeted features. Hope you all enjoy -- there's more to come.

    Here's the changelog:

    Enhancements
    • Add option to customize Wake-On-LAN settings from the context menu of the "switch servers" or "connect" screen.
    • Default Wake-On-LAN settings now send packet to both ports 7 and 9.
    • General performance improvements when loading larger lists and any time multiple requests were active.

    Defects fixed

    • Fixed several issues with older Logitech software versions (tested as far back as 7.3.3), including #46.
    • Several crashes reported on Google Play.
    • Various menu handling fixes, including issue #44, #45, #47.
    • Wake-On-Lan was not being triggered as expected under some circumstances.
    • Fix bug that was sending SqueezePlayer pings after Orange Squeeze had shut down.
    • Fix performance issue on Android 4.x devices where background processes would dramatically slow down artwork loading and other tasks.
    • Fix preference migration issue that was causing crashes when loading the preferences screen.

Can you elaborate a bit? Do you switch to line-in on the Boom or using the web interface or using Orange Squeeze somehow? I have a Boom myself so I will run a few tests.

Edit: I see that you reported the crash on Google Play -- thanks, that makes it much easier to fix.

OK, while I see the crash report, the stack trace doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense. I tried to duplicate this on software 7.7.2 and was unsuccessful. Was this a one-time event or is it reproducible every time you change to line-in? I'll keep investigating.
