    How does it perform on:

    rescanning the collection
Loading the database to the Duet handset on startup
Filling the buffer for Internet radio

Of course it's good to have it working, but is it still nice after using it a longer period?

All I can say is that I'm very happy with the performance. At the beginning of this project there was an issue with the speed of sd-cards, so scanning of the full library was slow. It's now fixed in the kernel and I can't see any performance difference between my other devices! For me the performance is absolutely o.k. And that's what I hear from others!

    So try yourself!

I have Pi on order and hope to build it as a SBS.

I currently run on a Go Flex Net with my library of 40,000 songs on a GFN drive in the bay.

Any idea if the Pi will perform better, worse or the same than my GFN?

    Squeezeplug advice

I currently run LMs on an arm tablet under ubuntu 9.04.

I have the music library on a home server on my Huawei router.

I'm using the following command to set up the music library for LMS:

    mount -t cifs //192.168.1.1/share/usb1_1 /home/user/SQUEEZE

I will be switching to Pi in the coming week.

I note that there is a music library setup in the squeezeplug install.

Could a clever user advise what I will need to enter under that section?

    Thanks.

ps: I posted this same message on RaspPi forum

Wanted to bump this question upwards again! I depend on the excellent 3rd party Spotify app that allows me to use the service on my legacy Squeezebox Radio & Classic devices. Can anyone running SqueezePlug on the Pi comment on whether this works? Thanks.

I need help on setting the RaspPi up

I successfully installed the LMS system using the Rpi image.

However, I have run into problems specifying the Music Library (see my post above).

During the setup I chose SAMBA server - this asked for username and password which I left blank (as the home media server doesn't have any).

However, at the stage in the LMS login screen which asks for the media library location, I am completely lost what to choose.

Could somebody please suggest what I should enter?

As you can see above my existing Ubuntu setup sets up the mounted file location - I admit I am lost badly about how to proceed.

Otherwise, the setup seemed to work fine.

Triode's Spotify plugin works fine for me running under standard arm Debian Wheezy on a Pi. I haven't tried with the armhf Raspbian.

    Just reporting my workaround:

Install without setting a library in the image setup. Add the fileserver as a cifs mount to fstab file. All works okay.

Have encountered another issue when playing the first track of the first album chosen - this always starts with a slight 'crackle' connecting sound. Only occurs on first play - subsequent tracks and albums all play without the starting crackle.

Any comments, sugestions for this issue?

Just been to a fascinating talk on the history of the Raspberry Pi and bought one off Eben himself.

Looking forward to having a play and thinking I might try to get Squeezeplug up and running.

I should have updated this. I ran rpi-update which installs latest firmware fixes, etc. The crackle/plop noise is gone!
