Thumbs up Back the original post.

Can we get back on track here. We need a new real SBBoom manufactured as a Boom. It's missing. Thank you.

But most definitely Logitech are out to lunch. They have not understood this product line. If they had they would have done so much better. Sync is a case in point. They entirely missed its attraction.

I rue the day this bunch bought SlimDevices. I have two of most of the players and the 'Classic'(sic) Aka SB3 and Transporter are still the most reliable. The Boom is OK, but the duet and the radio are just plain flaky. The Touch is mildly better but such a jack of no trades its best used as a display only (even the touch interface does not work correctly, let alone the awful server).

Sorry to hijack the thread. It's just so sad to see such a great idea go to waste.
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known

It's nice (for some) that the boom is clock radio sized. I've never thought of using it as a clock radio.

Mine is usually on the kitchen counter hooked to a Velodyne VA907. Otherwise, it's in it's sack on the road with me.

I would like to see the same technology except large enough for 5" woofers. This could make a real difference in bass and volume.

A detachable handle would be nice (or a sling strap?) A protective slot for the remote would be very thoughtful since just tossing it into the mix has proven continuous pressure on a button kills batteries.

I don't mind the A/C requirement since when I'm not at home, it's bound to be somewhere with wifi so I can use the thing.

That mock up look great but I would prefer no physical buttons and completely touch screen, think Squeezebox Touch with a speaker each side. And it must be compatible with the old Boom wall bracket

I see one big problem with that for a common use-case: when used as an alarm clock it can be really hard in the early morning drowsy haze to navigate a touchscreen to stop or snooze an alarm. It's even worse for people who need specs. But some type of physical stop/snooze button(s) could be incorporated without having all the other buttons and knobs.

But you can still stop/snooze the Radio with your eyes shut. Or at least you could with the firmware of about a year ago, when I was using it as an alarm clock.

When researching (the lack of) the Squeezebox product line, and some of my Boom alarm failures, I tripped across a suggestion that one should voice their product suggestions to Logitech here http://www.onlineregister.com/logitechithink/.

What is ironic of course is that finding the Squeezebox products is a bit difficult in the 'Product Category' drop down list.
    They are under 'Audio|Speakers'.
    Have fun.
