    Good idea KnoxxBoxx, I'll give it a go.
    Any idea where I can find a Debian version of SqueezePlay?

    Squeezeplay can usually be downloaded from: http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/

    However, it looks like there are no linux builds available at the moment.

    I found an older deb file on my harddrive (squeezeplay_7.6.0~9462_all.deb) that you can play around with if you want.

    http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1099005/sque...7E9462_all.deb

    I never had much success with it, though.

    Yes, that's my problem. I have used it on all the windows machines in the house so everyone has access to the music library. I was looking to migrate to Linux and have it on my laptop at the moment but can't find any means of accessing the SBS library, apart from browsing it on the network which isn't very user friendly :-(
    Many thanks for the deb file, I'll have a play :-)

    This is definite noob question, sorry, I have installed the deb file which seems to have gone without hitch. My problem is how do I run it?
    Both from command line and gui??

    OK, I have been shown the "which" command which should tell me where the SqueezePlay executable is installed.
    I have tried
    $ which squeezeplay
    $ which SqueezePlay
    $ which jive
    $ which Jive

    and get nothing returned.
    Any idea what the name and location of the executable installed by this deb file is??
    I have even tried browsing and searching the file structure but can't find any obvious suspects.

    cd /opt/squeezeplay/bin
    ./squeezeplay.sh

    seems to launch but my display was corrupt so could only just about select english. I was running in a virtual box but it might work for you.

    Ah-ha! that’s where they hid it ;-)
    Sadly it corrupts my screen as well :-(
    I get the screen to select language but it all goes pear shaped from there.
    Thanks for the effort though, much appreciated.

    Seems odd that there is no real support for this. I would have thought a player like this would be really useful.I know I like having it on all my computers so everyone can play the library locally or control SB Players on the network.I haven't found anything that fills that niche to date.
