I have a really strange problem with 7.7.1 nightly builds on my WHS 2011.
Installation runs fine, all albums and tracks are shown after scanning but when I want to play an album, LMS jumps to the last song of the album (it shows the last song on the right side of the Web Interface) but it doesn't start streaming to my players! I have flac an mp3 files and never had this problem with any nightly version. I use nightly version since about two years.
When using the official LMS 7.7.0 I don't have any problem and all players play the selected albums or songs.
What could be the problem with 7.7.1 ??

What revision number are you using? Anything in server.log?

I've seen the same symptom intermittantly ( probably 6-8 week gaps but once, consecutive days) over various past builds - definitely 7.6 and 7.6.1 and possibly various 7.5 as well - in official release as well as nightly.
I've never captured enough about the preceding events to make a sensible report, so please take this as my best recollection.
I run 3-5 players in sync and I think this happens when one is added or removed (bizarrely, quite often as I'm going to bed - hence befuddled observations). By power cycling all the players and/or getting an album to play by selecting a different method (e.g. via "music folder", rather than "New Music") the system will recover. It will remain recovered for some time (weeks) without reinstallation or restarting until the next random occurence.
It's a niggle to me but not yet observed on 7.7.1 nightly2 * SB3, 1 * Boom, 2 * Radio and 1 * Touch
controlled by IR, SBC [and iPeng on iPhone]
7.5.4 r32171 on WHS on HP MediaSmart (EX470) upgraded to 2G RAM

I've seen this behavior in the past. What happens is that the server attempts to play each song in turn, until it goes through them all and leaves the last one as the current song. Most commonly it happens when the server cannot read the files for some reason, such as the files having been deleted or a hard drive not being available.

Are you using a wireless connection to your player? I've seen this exact same thing way back when I used wireless when there was a bit of signal congestion caused by excessive neighbourly access points. The first track failed and then it seemed determined to fail on each successive track until it got to the end of the album.
