    Very nice job indeed. I'm interested in following your lead. Can you explain how the face plate was cut so precisely to match the shape of the Touch? What special tools and skills are required? Router table?

    It is a very nice design. Great work!
    But I would be very causious with the PoE adapter you’re using to power the Touch. The power ratings of the Touch exceed the specifications of a CAT5e cable. Each wire of a CAT5e cable has a maximum rating of a little over 500mA. Even when 2 pairs are used by the PoE adapter your still exceeding the cable specs by far. The Touch is rated at 3 A (@ 5 volts).
    1 x SB3, 1 x SB Boom, 1 x SB Radio and 2 x SB Touch - all wireless

    Another way to do it is using a passive PoE splitter. I've used one for a wireless access point in the past and will probably use them again in other situations.

    The Touch power consumption rating allows for powering a USB hard drive though.

    The spec sheet shows the base unit input to be 400ma at 48V DC but the terminal unit output is 2.5A at 5V. This should be fine if not using an attached HD I would think.
