I find I am increasingly using Softsqueeze, especially since I finally
got ssh tunelling figured out, and I am in awe of the fantastic job
which Richard and others have done to build this. There is one
remaining problem I have - starting Softsquueze on my laptop. The only
way I can get this to go is to open a command prompt and type "java -jar
softsqueeze.jar". This works fine and I can stream music from my home
server to the office. However, despite repeated attempts I have failed
to get any of the possible "one-click" options to start.
Running XP (SP1) I get the following results for the various files in
the Softsqueeze directory:

1) double clicking the "Softsqueeze.jar" file - Error box "Java
Virtual Machine Launcher" : Could not find the main class.

2) Double clicking the "Softsqueeze.jnlp" file - After a brief Java
splash box, "Java Web Start Launch File" Error box : Unable to launch
the specified application. The details pop up for this error reports
that the codebase has an invalid value:
http://[%host%]/html/softsqueeze/. I have tried editing the [%host%] to
an IP adresss (127.0.0.1) which seems as if it is going to work as it
gives a Softsqueeze 1.7 splash screen, but this stalls at an endlessly
flashing progress bar under "checking for latest version"

3) Double clicking "webstart" brings up the webstart browser page
reporting that Java is installed; clicking on step 2 produces the same
result as seen in 2) above

4) double clicking "applet" opens a browser page with a blank white box
and a status line reporting Applet started but no further action.

I'm sure its blindingly obvious what needs to be done, perhaps someone
can point out my error.
