Unless you are using MusicIP or iTunes... Dont be a wuss; just leave the DLNA plugin disabled... unless you use FreeNAS

Or redhat linux ? How is readyas going btw there are bugs against it claiming that it is not even possiblento installl 7.7 on it

But ofcourse slate is correct if it works for you there are iprovements and bugfixes making it worthwhile.
Also it is better for ubuntu and debian users acording to some treads.

I'm not able to start any CUE or associated media file using "Music Folder" functionality. I have Logitech Squeezebox Touch. Any ideas? (7.7.0 v33624)

Please note that there's no fundamental issue with FreeNAS (or FreeBSD for
that matter). It did work fine for me when I tested with my limited test
collection. I'd rather assume that the scanner is tripping over some
incompatible file. You should try to figure out where exactly it's
    crashing.

Exactly. It's not one of these operating systems. But it's one of the
files you're scanning, I'm pretty sure. My own main server is CentOS4
(RHEL) based too, and I'm scanning 12k images and a bunch of videos just
    fine.

Read that report to the bottom and you'll see that while its software
would say the installation failed, the server is up and running just fine.
It's ugly and confusing, but not a show stopper. We'll deal with it post
7.7.0 release, as there will be more changes to the ReadyNAS package.

No my segfault scanning crash is not about a particular file scan works fine but I must use.

--noimage and --novideo othervise rescans segfaults regardless if I have any videos or pictures

    Se17674

it can't be a file as the scan actually crashes after the finished scan message.
And after a restart the new music I added is there and ready to be used.

Michael, I have been running SBS for 18 months or so and these are the first builds where this has happened. If I roll back to RC5 or 7.6.2 then it's fine. If you still think it's a file of mine please explain what has changed and, more importantly, how on earth do I identify it? Has something changed with the artwork caching?

The scanner appears to carry on when the server crashes. The music scan appears to finish but it then endlessly looks for new media so I'm very confused.

    Any help appreciated.

have you tried with music only ? don't define any picture or video folders .
    Don't run the dlan plugin.

And most importantly edit the sysconfig/squeezeboxserver file (or what it is on freeNAS ) and add
--noimage --novideo as an argument for startup .

This will make 7.7 very similar to 7.6.2

it may not work at all :-/ just an idea to single out if it is the newfangled video and picture scanning parts that breaks functionality

In my case i have noted that you don't rely need to have any media files it is enough that these things are running to disturb my server.

Thanks Mnyb. Will give that a go but I'm still thinking I'll just be better off with 7.6.2 for now.
