Thanks for Squeezeplug, I've been running it for a few days on my Seagate goflex net.
My question is, how do I uninstall hd auto-idle? My squeezeplug keeps going unresponsive to all connections a short time after booting and I suspect that could be causing it.
Thanks,
Dave

Further to my last post, I think I figured out how to disable hd-idle.
I found the install script but didn't really understand it that well so I changed some other settings that could help - at least to diagnose whether hd-idle was causing my apparent crash problem.
Cheers
Dave

Update on this - my Squeezeplug was still running fine this morning, for the first time since I installed it, and is still running now.
It looks like I was successful in disabling hd-idle and that it was indeed causing the crash/unresponsive problem I'd been seeing. It made sense given that the squeezeplug had continued to work during extended periods of database scanning and network copying operations and only crashed during idle periods.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? I'm running a GoFlex Net with a 1TB GoFlex drive connected to one of the SATA sockets.

I also have a GoFlex Net and have issues with Hard Drive idle, but when it is in original "unhacked" form. Mine does not spin down a drive that is in either of the SATA slots. It will allow the same drive to spin down if it is connected by USB. After raising this with Seagate, they claim that this functionality is not supported. Great. So if you use one of these devices as a NAS (unhacked) it never spins down.
I use a Dockstar for Squeezeplug and will sell my GoFlexNet.

I finally took the plunge and flashed an extra usbstick with the new version of Squeezeplug, keeping my old version should it not work.
Since when I had the goflex with the old version, so many things went wrong, I exchanged it with a Dockstar and it worked much better.
What can I say, it worked immediately. Had it up and running in no time and the LMS 7.5.2 also scanned all my files perfectly.
In other words I am happy and would just like to thank you for your work.LMS 7.8.0 on Wandboard

SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi ready for download
Hi folks,
GREAT NEWS!
I'm very happy to tell you that SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi (Beta) is ready for download.
SqueezePlug Media-Server version 4.08b1 for Raspberry Pi is based on the existing and very famous versions of SqueezePlug for other ARM based devices like SheevaPlug, Dockstar and GoFlex Net.
I did some hard work to get it running on such a tiny device, but now it's working great and with a good performance. I ran it for 2 days now stable and have no issues.
SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi offers the same set of features like the versions for all other devices. So SqueezePlug for Raspberry Pi has a lot of very cool features:
SqueezePlug is a platform for different Media-Servers:
- Logitech Media Server (f.k.a. Slimserver, SqueezeBox Server)
- MiniDLNA
- Mediatomb
- Twonky
- TVMobili
All these servers are ready to install by a click.
Included features are:
- Support for wireless USB-Sticks
- SqueezeSlave (Media Player running on RPi with no additional HW) Server and player on the same device
- Option to install a SqueezeSlave "Stand Alone Player"
- Scripts for all SqueezePlug configurations
- Samba Server already included
The installation is based on the Debian distribution (debian6-19-04-2012.img). The kernel and all packages are up to date. There is no X-Server or other graphic things installed. They are completely removed. The intention of SqueezePlug is to run a headless Media-Server. So SSH is installed and activated. All you have to do is this:
1. Download, unzip and burn the sd-card
2. Start the Pi and find out the IP-Address (e.g. from an attached monitor or from your router).
3. login with user: root and pw: nosoup4u
4. Choose Raspberry Pi from the initial screen.
5. Reboot the RPi by typing: shutdown -r now
6. Connect again and type: setup
7. Choose the options you need and the scripts will do the rest for you.
Please visit my blog to download the new image: http:/squeezeplug.de
Look for sp_rpi_408b1.zip
I'll update my Wiki later to regarding Raspberry Pi.
Have fun,
Greetings,
Thomas

Wow. That was really quick. How is the performance compared to a dockstar.
Too bad that musicip isn't available for the ARM platform.
I am niw also thinking about getting one. With squeezeslave+ an usb audio device you get a very cheap receiver?
Thanks again for your great work.

The performance is less than on Dockstars or Sheevas, but it' quite o.k. for me. Scanning the full library is a bit slow, but you won't do that daily. Connecting multiple players is no problem, I've tested 4 the same time! Even SqueezeSlaves runs fine.
Why + an usb audio device? Raspberry Pi has already a soundcard on board. That's working out of the box with my image!
