CLEAR CHANNEL RADIO will make public an application programming interface (API) and affiliate program for iHEARTRADIO. The Developer Program will enable third parties and developers to easily integrate iHEARTRADIO's unique content and services into their own products, web pages and applications.
Using iHEARTRADIO's Developer Program, third-party developers will have the opportunity to create their own innovative versions of iHEARTRADIO on their platforms. The iHEARTRADIO API includes access to many of the service’s features, including its live broadcast and digital-only stations and Custom Stations as well as a deep social media integration.
"By making iHEARTRADIO's API available, we’re empowering developers to bring the full strength of iHEARTRADIO to life in their own creative ways," said CLEAR CHANNEL DIGITAL Pres. BRIAN LAKAMP. "Opening our API will unlock exciting opportunities to enrich the unique, combined live and custom radio experience that only iHEARTRADIO provides. This move also builds on our commitment to be everywhere our listeners expect us to be, with the best products and services."

Ready to chuck the squeezebox.
I am just about to chuck the Squeezebox into the Salvation Army bin. I can do everything I need with an old smartphone AND listen to iHeartRadio stations. It's a lot smaller and totally portable too.

Where's iheartradio?
Love my squeezebox. But I can't figure out why in the world one of the most popular music apps is still not on it. C'mon guys. What gives? Let's see iheartradio. It's on every other platform.

TuneIn Just Dropped Clear Channel Stations Today
It appears that Clear Channel is pulling all it's stations from TuneIn as I lost them all in Chicago today. The I Heart Radio App would certainly be helpful, but, I will get them the same way we survived the CBS debacle previously.

Well, don't know about Logitech but I approached iHeartRadio to get it supported through iPeng until there is a full Squeezebox solution and they weren't particularly helpful and said there are not interested to let me access their API, so I don't know...

TuneIn
It appears to still work on the Squeezebox, but they have removed their stations from the Android app now. They were previously only blocking on Google TV so this is probably a wave perhaps tied to expiring agreements. I would prepare by adding the ULRs to your LMS favorites in case you rely on these stations in the absence of an Iheartradio app.
