Following is a quote from the PlugPlayer author...
So it is only loading 10 folders worth of art at any one time. i.e. not an unlimited amount :-) But since folders can recursively contain other folders within them, it sounds like it still could be downloading 10^2 art images in the worst case...It makes a large number of requests; I don't think it is bound explicitly to any specific number. It looks at each container that is rendered on screen, and if it doesn't have artwork, it will browse the first 10 entries in that container to see if they have artwork. If not, it will look in the first container, and so on. It is limited to only looking at the first 10 items and in the first container, so it will only browse a small subset of a given server looking for art.
Can anyone please suggest what logging I should turn on in SBS, in order to track incoming server GET requests, so I can investigate and see where it may actually be tripping up?Regards,

I did notice this behaviour with PP too, when working on our DLNA service.
But rather than crashing the server I noticed PP would die at some point
(at least on the iPad).

Try --debug artwork=info (or debug): it would show every artwork request
done.

I guess the question of "who dies first" depends on whether the server has more horsepower than the client. I guess an iPad could outrun an old single core Windows based NAS (especially if it is running other tasks), but against a new high end multi- core server it would definietly be the other way round...

Regardless, it's clearly a problem with PP and it should be fixed to be a friendlier client, wouldn't you say?

I'm running LMS on a Via C3/1GHz with 12k images.
