I've seen this too and I'm using the svn version but the last time I saw it I suspected it was caused by mysqueezebox.com being unavailable at the time.

Ah! I did suspect something like that might be the case. It doesn't happen every time my server boots up or at every LMS stop/start - only sometimes. But it does happen every day as a result of a server re-boot or LMS stop/start. Perhaps I'm experimenting too much with LMS

mysqqueezebox.com does seem a little unstable at the moment!

Heh... and I thought I had corrupted my server.prefs file shutting
down/restarting in a not so clean way.

Can you tell us what operating system you're running your SBS on? I'm on a
CentOS 4 Linux box, running perl 5.10. Andy updated the YAML module -
let's make sure it's not breaking things!

BTW: I was able to revert to a server.prefs file from about 4-5 days ago.

It's more than irritating: I had to re-define all my media folders,
causing another 5h scan...

In my case only server.prefs was hit by this issue. But it's wise to
backup all the prefs folder anyway.

I'm using a QNAP NAS running a version of Busybox Linux and running perl 5.10.

It's more than irritating: I had to re-define all my media folders,
causing another 5h scan...

Please don't forget to submit enhancement requests for both of these
ideas. I mentioned this issue to Andy, as I'm facing the same 5h for
images, than 20mins for music scanning problem myself too.

What QNAP NAS? Do you know its CPU architecture (x86 vs. arm)?

It's a QNAP TS-809 x86 - intel Core2duo CPU.

+1 here running Logitech Media Server Version: 7.7.0 - r33472 on windows 7-32

And it's not just the most resent build that has this "feature". As I remember, every LMS I have tried has started from "default".

very stupid question, but I've installed 7.7 RC1 on my office machine, and for music, all is good. I've also scanned some pictures....and it seemed to scan them. But where do I actually DO SOMETHING with the pictures. I thought the picture viewer in EXTRAS would do something with these, but I get nothing there. Again, very stupid question I know, but just curious....

No stupid at all since I have had the same thoughts ;-)

Now, why do I need a LMS to access my video files? On a Touch or even worse - on a SB3. Is there some new hardware device in the pipeline, Logitech ?
