LMS 7.7 rc1

SlimNAS will require some more work due to additional dependencies. And
the name change...

Thanks Michael. Can I take that as a 'yes' in due course? :-)
I did try to instal LMS 7.7 (having changed the file name so that SlimNAS recognised it) but it failed to start!

Just installed RC1 and I'm experiencing the issues that I reported with build r33408 in the LMS thread. http://forums.slimdevices.com/showpo...&postcount=368
Btw, should we be using this thread to report issues with subsequent beta builds... say today's build r33414 or is this thread exclusive for this rc1 build. (Assuming LMS 7.7 rc1 is currently frozen at build r33410).

The web UI issue should be fixed in r33419

There will still be nightly builds with fixes on top of RC1. And there
will be another RC before release.

Initial scan of rc1 crashes at inital scan ...
(Win 7 (64 bit), all MP3 files)
No entry at scanner.log, no entry at server.log
[11-09-12 18:52:41.1963] main::checkDataSource (1072) Warning: Schema updated or no media found in the database, initiating scan.
same with r33406 and r33419
IMHO completely unusuable...

First Run..
Figured I would give 7.7 a try, as I know it;'s getting close to a release. It's only been running for about 15 min so far, but at the moment it seems to be working and talking to my various players.

on OpenSuse 11.4
Hi,
I tried to install the LMS 7.7rc1 on an OpenSuSe 11.4 machine using the RPM package. Unfortunately LMS did not start. It gave the error message that the CPAN module Media::Scan: was there but was not the neecded version.
I know I can update the CPAN modules myself (I did not have the time to sort that out) but generally I would have expected that the RPM package would have contained the needed pre-reqs. Or are my expectations too high?
Regards, Johan
